i dont know bout you guys but for me.. a win over pacquiao is like a grand slam for mayweather while a win over mayweather will be just another "told ya" situation for pacquiao...

Believe it or not, fighters believe that the same way the most die-hard agenda-pushing ******* or Void Hater does. As Nazim Richardson stated, the worst thing that can happen is for the fighters fighting Pac to go in believing he's small. I can't say I disagree with him, and I hope for Mayweather's sake he's not making the same mistake of thinking it'll be an easy night's work because of his size advantage. If he is, he's going to be in for a rude awakening come fight night.

Hes good enough to compete at 147 and win a title there but that doesnt mean hes a true welter thats why he fought Cotto at a catchweight, just like Jones wasnt a true HW just cause he won a bel there.

And Baldo and Judah:lol::lol::lol::lol: please when the division was getting hot with guys like Cotto,Margo,Mosley and Williams coming through your boy staged a fake retirement so he wouldnt fight those guys and then he came back to "steale some money" like he said against two smaller guys who he holds every advantage over and after that he will retire again or he will fight someone like M.Hatton and steal some more money.

Floyd's body needed a break. He'd been boxing his entire life. It was a good idea to let his body and mind rest for a while before coming back and fighting Pacquiao, which is obviously the reason he came back and fought a common opponent in Marquez to warm up.

When did Floyd say he wants to fight Matthew Hatton?

Define "war". Do you mean a fight where he trades with people and lets them tag him because it proves heart? Or, do you mean a fight with a lot of back and forth action, because he's DEFINITELY been in some exciting fights. I take it you only started watching Boxing with "The World Awaits"?

is pacquiao really THAT small, i remember the tale of the tape against cotto and alot of their dimensions were VERY equal, no more than 1-2in of difference anywhere

Just wait to see how they both look side by side on fight night. It's gonna pop into everyone's eyes that Mayweather is the bigger man.

The past means nothing anymore so lets just concentrate on what we see with our own 2 eyes in the present. It's not an excuse for Pacman but it's still reality that Floyd is taller, has a longer reach, has a broader body and will outweigh Pac on fight night. That's all !!

I have never really considered him "small" at WW. The Cotto fight should remove any doubts really. He HAS filled in the weight pretty comfortable. As a Pac fan, I admit some Pac fans are really unreasonable in suggesting that Pac is still too small. He isn't and there's no evidence to prove it atleast against Floyd who himself started at the lighter weights.

I have Pac TKOing Floyd. But if Mayweather wins, I will give him 100% credit. Pac is the most dangerous fighter he has fought in his career. There's no denying that.

I just hope the Floyd fans, especially the most ardent ones, would do the same and give credit to Pac if he wins. Because I have a sneaking feeling they won't and instead give a bunch of excuses for Floyd's loss.

Pac was 16 when he weighed 106 lbs. Floyd was somewhere that light as well, maybe 115 lbs? Anyway, that was long ago and doesn't have much bearing today. Pac, earlier in his career used to drain himself to make weight. Look how much smaller Torrecampo was compared to Manny when he KO'd him. IMO Manny stayed at the lower weights too long and compromised his well being. He struggled to make 130 against Marquez and said he had difficulty making 135 against Diaz. Against Cotto, he had to eat 5 times a day to keep the weight above 143. 140 is his natural weight class.

The thing is...most guys need to lose weight in order to make weight limit. That's reality in the world of boxing...

Pacquiao on the other hand needs to eat loads of food, although quality food yes, in order to keep his weight near the welterweight limit !

It's not the same thing at all.... Pacman at this stage in his career is more suited for 140lbs but the fact that he's that good, makes him competitive at 147 also !!

Well reasoned post. I for one will have nothing but praise and adulation for Pacquiao if he happens to get past Mayweather with a win.
