Of Pacquiao. If you wanna compare someone to past greats criticisms are gonna be level. we arent comparing Pacquiao to 10-20 level fighters like Chavez or Whitaker. We are comparing him to a top 5 fighter of all-time. Maybe number 2-3.

Im not comparing anything that Pacquiao couldnt accomplish today. I didnt compare Armstrong holding 3 titles, or his fight record. I compared wins against champions and ATG's defeated. And Armstrong has the edge clearly.

Please. This happens all of the time. Kobe gets compared to Jordan for instance. I hear all the time about past greats comparing the two. But in the end when you measure up the statistics Jordan shits all over Kobe.

Same way with Pacquiao vs Armstrong. Armstrongs resume shits all over Pacquiaos.

So MichiganWarrior..... what fighters besides Mayweather, 147 and down, should Pac fight to satisfy critics like you? My thing is, I just want to see him fight a young, prime champion coming off a good win, if he does that I see no room for criticism... really.

I actually dont give a **** whether Gallo rates Pac 5 or 20. The point Im making is at least he was one of the few who can really say he can compare because he saw them both. I actually agree with you as far a Kobes concerned. I grew up with MJ torching the Knicks, I saw him play at the Garden (Although Grant Hill was the best Ive seen play live) and Ive seen Kobe, therefore I can say with conviction that Jordan shits on Kobe and dont have the time to argue with kids born in 1995.

What does comparing PAcquiao to perhaps the 2nd greatest non-heavyweight in boxing history have to do with satisfaction?

If Pacquiao beat Mayweather and then maybe Sergio Martinez/Paul Williams, without a catchweight without any silly contract stipulations, I might rank him in the top 15.

He might be in Sugar Ray Leonards league after that.

Also if the same guy Gallo (this is old school Italian btw) says Floyd is better than Pep. Who the **** am I to just dismiss that? I may disagree but Id definitely take what he said with abit more weight. Also this man has an unbiased a profile you can get to judge fighters.

But none of those are Pacquiao's fault. I don't like that the divisions and titles are as watered down as they are, but this is the state of boxing and it can't be used to criticize Pacquiao. It's not his fault, so you can't use it to criticize him or his record.

Because the world titles are watered down, I think it's a bigger achievement that Pacquiao has held three Ring titles and is/was lineal in four separate divisions. No matter how watered down the titles get, those achievements rank alongside anything Armstrong did.
I agree but his career has lasted three times as long, so he's bound to have an edge. The only fair way to do it, would be to assume Pacquiao has essentially had three careers and compare the strength of both of them.

How exactly cant you manage to fight the best? Are you saying Nate Campbell, Shane Mosley and Sergio Martinez, (hell there are 5 fighters at 154 better then Margarito) was out of Pacquiaos hands?

You just said it yourself, they are watered down. How exactly does it rank with what Armstrong did when they are watered down? Armstrong beat the best, beat a legit top 10-20 ATG. Has Pacquiao even beaten a guy in the top 50 ATG yet? No he hasnt. Again Armstrong is superior.

Floyd has beaten the same number of champions. 16-0 aswell. Has nothing to do with longevity. 16-0 world champions isnt that many. I believe Roy Jones has a similar number aswell. I believe Pacquiao is something like 12-2-1 or something against world champions.

Utter nonsense. You accomplish what you accomplish.

That I know boxing and am not just a "casual fan" like you.

Please tell me novice, who has Manny beaten on the level of a Duran, Hearns or Hagler.

Hell who has he beaten on the level of a Benitez?

The highest rated ATG on Pacquiaos resume is a shot DLh, not top 50 and Barrera, who may be in somewhere between 60-80.

Hearns is top 30-40. Hagler is top 20-30. Duran is top 10, top 20 at a push.

Sorry boyo Sugar would have wiped the floor with a Margarito, Cotto or David Diaz. No comparison in talent level.

Tell Bill Gallo that. Ask him why and he'll give you the answer. And its pretty damn obvious.

The only reason anyone would say Armstrong is better than Pacquiao would only say so because of the perceived sacrilegious nature of saying a present day fighter is better than a latter day fighter. Its risiculous, really...Armstrong didn't possess the skillset Pacquiao currently has. Not even close, really. Pacquiao would beat him badly.

This comparing old fighters to new ones gets ridiculous at times.
