Pacquiao bodyshot round 4 - Updated - HD video + GiFs

Hmm didnt think that landed cleanly (landed partly on the elbow) but Margarito did look hurt by that one.

 

It's amusing how those flippin' commentators are making fun of Margarito on the air as the fight was happening.

 

Pac pulled up in the last 2 rounds. He knew he had the fight won and didn't want to permanently damage Margarito. Per Pacquiao, "that's not what boxing is about."

He's a class act. His opponents talk trash and say they are going to destroy Pacquiao. Pac-Man shows pity on them and looks to the ref to stop it. He doesn't want to hurt them more than he has to.

 

Yep, I caught it right away as well, Pacquiao threw a similar shot very early on to Erik Morales in the fight he lost to him, Morales visibly winced and had a similar body reaction that Margarito had, the only thing is that Pacquiao himself missed seeing Morales in that type of pain and did'nt pounce, or he may very well have beaten Morales that night.

That shot was a straight left to Margarito's liver.......most fighters would have gone down and not gotten up from that.
Margarto was in sheer pain but sucked it up.
.....of course debilitated from that shot, Margarito ate alot of punches after that shot in that round.


On the flipside, Pacquiao caught massive shots by Margarito in tha same area, and though hurt, it is inexplicable to me how Pacquiao recovers from such shots in a matter of seconds.

 

He might have pulled back some, but as someone who was rooting for Margarito, I wanted Pacquiao to go for it in that final round, as in my view, Margarito still had enough to still be dangerous if he timed Pacquiao with a well placed shot........but it had to come with Pacquiao coming at him and not Margarito on the chase.

.....and btw, it was'nt all just Pac having pity on the final round or two.......Pac admitted that he was being instructed in the final round not to get careless and want to trade.
Having been hurt, the Pac team was still concious that Margarito was still even in the state that he was in, dangerous.

 

Watching it live on ppv, HBO showed the replay. It was a dead on kidney shot. Pac's glove went thru Magarito and it froze his movement obviously backing him up for the rest of the round.

 

I guess all those stick hits didnt help...

 

There were quite a few superb body shots landed by both fighters, Pac nearly went down from one. He also hit Margarito with an extremely low shot when he was fighting his way off the ropes about halfway through.

 

I was yelling "he hurt him to the body! Now finish him! finish him!"

It was indeed a brutal round for Margs.

 

I know. I thought Margarito would go down from this shot.

 

Brutal round for Marg. I was surprised PAC didn't go in for the kill.

 

I saw it the first time with my friends and I noticed it immediately...Great ****in shot!!!But Pac stopped to go to the body IMO because of Marg's welt under his eye...Pac was only seeing this after the 4th round...And he smelled the blood and only wanted to punch the welt...and forgot the body in the process... + Marg protected himself better after he got hit ...

 

Yeah that was a good shot.
