Bradley, and its not really that close IMO.

Bradley has beaten Holt, Witter, Campbell (unofficially), Peterson, is undefeated and is number ONE at 140 behind the 'champ' Pac.

Clottey lost his last fight against the guy Pac just destroyed.... was it close? yes... but he lost, now normally i wouldnt care in a situation like this, losses happen.... and this would normally be a good fight (i would like to have had clottey get a win before this however) but in THIS situation, with Bradley not only saying he will do whatever pac wants to get the fight, and fight at any weight, but with him being undefeated, payed his dues, and is the clear number one and verging on a 11-20 p4p position.... the choice of what fight is better, and who deserves it more at this point is clear.

    IMO.

Pacquiao v. Bradley...it would be a lot more competitive, and it would be for a title. Pac would beat Clottey easily IMO.

fight the undefeated unified champ....Clottey is just as risky and against a bigger guy...bad move and bad business move....

Both good fights but since Pac is now vying for the number #1 spot in the #1 division, imo, Clottey represents the more pertinent fight. Before long, he may be fighting for the ww ring title; a win over Clottey would only further entrench Pac's legitimacy to contend for that opportunity.

Clottey doesn't even have a belt...why not wait a few more weeks and fight the real Welterweight champion.

Manny's got unfinished business at 140..

Clottey is not a bad option either. He barely lost to Cotto.

I'm glad to see Pacquiao fighting a black dude though. It gets old beating up latinos..:smoke

Is anybody surprised he chose Clottey? Another guy who will just stand there and trade with him. Wonder why he avoided Floyd?

pac is already number one at welter, so he would have to fight mosley or mayweather to become the champ there, fighting clottey really doesnt do anything for his ranking at this point.

Meanwhile Bradley is an actual champion, number one in the division, and is undefeated....

Pac could fight the most deserving and best available fight (bradley) and then wait for one of the only other fights that really matter at this stage for him (mosley/berto winner)

I am really not understanding the logic behind people thinking clottey is a better fight....

    1 - Mayweather
    2 - Mosley/Berto winner
    3 - Bradley

and i suppose you could throw williams in there although i really dont care to see that fight

but besides those names, i dont see Clottey even on the radar at this point.... and Clottey has his own buisness to take care of and is in no REAL position to fight Pac realistically.... hes in the position now where he should be seperating himself from the opposition to GET to the position Arum has put him in, fighting collazo, quintana, ect.... then when he wins a couple fights against top 10 welters i can see him getting this... not for being competetive in losses.

Again, i am not knocking him, losses happen and Clottey is a good fighter and this is a solid fight, but in contrast to the guys Pac SHOULD be fighting, its not up to par IMO.

Clottey is going to be clottey, a guy that goes in and pushes elite fighters to the edge, but never goes out of his own comfort zone for the win and will like usual do just enough to lose, he hasnt had a real meaningful win recently and needs to work his way to the position imo, and the whole thing is a bit unfair to bradley, a guy that goes out and gives 150% every time out in exciting fights, beaten everyone put in front of him at this point, earned his number one position and is an actual champion now.

I agree with most of your post but no way in hell is Pac the number one Welter...His only true welterweight fight was against a past prime drained De la Hoya. The number one welter right now is Mosley, and it will be the winner of their fight!!!! Other than that Pac should wait till that fight happens or fight the number one at Junior Welter which is Bradley.

What are you suggesting exactly....that the winner of the January 30th fight turn around and fight Pac on March 13th?

The March 13th date has been tentative. Pac should target Bradley. Clottey is coming off a loss and is simply getting made because he is a Top Rank fighter and is available.

He was discussing the Ring Championship, so im just going off the official Ring rankings.... :good

    They have it

    1 - Pac
    2 - Mosley
    3 - Mayweather
    4 - Cotto
    5 - Clottey

The Ring is complete bull****...Pacquiao is unproven at 147...they might as well make him the number 1 154lber for just considering to fight Foreman by this logic

    Pac should

    1 - Fight Bradley
2 - try again to fight Mayweather
    3 - Fight Mosley/Berto winner

    RETIRE

Guys like Clottey, while solid fighters in their own right.... simply shouldnt be on the radar at this point imo.
