Clottey might push elite fighters to the edge but what would it say about Pac if Clottey isn't even able to do that to him?

Well regardless of opinions, he was mentioning clottey is a good fight to solidify Pacs position to fight and become the Ring Champion at Welter, so their rankings are relevent to that discussion.

Well then Pac gets props, but it doesnt justify the fight, IMO.

Pac has taken much heat for fighting a "weight drained Oscar" and a "shot Cotto at a catch-weight".

Clottey is a top ww who poses a legitimate threat to uncrown him so if he is able to defeat Clottey at 147, it would go along way in subsiding much of the detractors who have been discrediting his champagne as a ww.

Yeah I mean Clottey is a live and real welterweight opponent. But, I think he should target Bradley. Clottey is an easy match up IMO, he's only in the running because he is a Top Rank fighter.

I was just sayin how it is..Pacquaio's win against Cotto was impressive but it still wasn't at the true division weight. Clottey would be a good win, but it wouldn't be a better win than one against Bradley.

I wouldn't mind seeing Pac face Bradley however, imo, he doesn't bring anything more to the table than Clottey would.

The fact that Clottey is a top 147 lber is what makes this fight more attractive, imv.

There is no way Clottey brings anything to the table in comparison to Bradley. Bradley is the man to beat at 140 and he has a title. Very very few casual fans even know who Joshua Clottey is. All his fan base is in the Bronx and that is pretty much it!!!!!

Again, fights for pretty weak side arguments like that shouldnt be what dictates fights. Bradley has earned his position to challenge Pac, and I believe from what i said, its the better fight....

Fighting Clottey to some how shut up some haters isnt the reason to choose Clottey, someone coming off an actual loss, among the other things i pointed out, over Bradley, a number one ranked undefeated champion.

Again, i like Clottey and this is simply my opinion.... To me, to be honest, its an injustice to give Clottey the Pac fight with Bradley right there.

Think about it.... right now Pac is a reward to fighters, to be chosen to fight him at this point is like winning the lottery, and who are they choosing as a deserved opponent for the number 1 p4p?

    Joshua Clottey?

I mean come on... again, this would be a solid fight for a comebacking Cotto, a Collazo, a Quintana.

    Not Pac....

Sorry but again, Clottey shouldnt even be on the radar.

Defending the fight because 'well, hes not THAT bad' or 'it will shut up some haters' doesnt excuse the fact he should be fighting Bradley, IMO.

Why? He's a Showtime fighter who's biggest fight was against Campbell and that ended up a mess.

Clottey's been in with Margarito, Judah, and has headlined HBO's WCB against Cotto. He's clearly been more exposed to the casual fan than Bradley has and again, he's a top 147 lb fighter.

agree completely..Not to mention Bradley was even quoted as saying, "I'd fight Pacquiao with no blood tests at all." Clottey hasn't even mentioned Pac's name.

    - Bradley is clear number one /Clottey is not, and never has been
    - Bradley brings a credible undefeated record, in which Pac would be the first to beat him /Clottey does not
    - Bradley is a champion/ Clottey is not

Theres plenty that Bradley brings that Clottey doesnt.

If you think Clottey is more known than Bradley than I don't know what to tell you..Bradley just headlined an event and he went over to a co-feature in Europe and beat their WBC champion. Bradley is a bigger name. He is an undefeated champion.

Clottey hasn't yet been beaten without reasonable dispute.

His most recent defeat against Cotto is still argued to this day.

I contend that a controversial loss to Cotto at MSG is more of an accomplishment than beating either Kendal Holt or Lamont Peterson.

Clear #1 in a division with lesser competition. ( the fighters at ww are a class above the jww's)

And I think the general public is aware of this.
