What I find strange even though it was a catch weight fight is that Pacquiao won a 8th world title in a weight class that he didn't make weight for. JMW is anywhere from 147-154and Pacquiao weigh in against Margarito at 144lbs. Pacquioa pretty much weigh as a WW and won a world title at a higher division without having to make the weight for the JMW weight class. How would Pacquiao do if he actually weigh in at 147 to fight Canelo at 152? We need to remember that Pacquiao is not a big guy and shouldn't fight past 147 and that's the reason he hasn't campaign at 154 no more since he probably know his limit. I favor Canelo to win the fight if pac decides to officially weight in a JMW limit. I believe there's a good chance it will hurt this performance because of the extra weight and let's not forget he isn't fighting a walking corpse or margarito. He's fighting a guy that pretty much a super middle weight with skills.

I think Canelo will work out Pacs fighting pattern (because he is a good pure boxer) and will time him and possibly take him out in the late rounds. If Marquez can KO Pac, imagine what a full on punch from Canelo would do at this stage in his career.

Floyd took away Canelos size advantage wth his skill set. Pac doesnt have the skillset to do so and will get hit clean various times throughout the fight. Any time he has taken on a bigger opponent he has bulldozed them over (marg, Cotto, DLH etc), and he can no longer do it. His punch resistance is going and if you think otherwise you are mad.

He simply isnt the pac that we used to know.

Canelo has more skills than Pac does. Canelo would jab the **** outta Pac outbox him and beat him up.

Pacquiao would win this if he wasn't getting old.
    Pacman would destroy this kid.

Footwork isn't a skill? Canelo's feet are truly awful and that'd be his undoing against Pac. He doesn't have the speed or timing (also a skill) to figure out Pac's rhythm. He doesn't find Pac counterpunching or coming forward, Pacman would light him up at all ranges.

Canelo clomps around the ring and his defense is on and off, and he has trouble combining his offense and defense. He'd catch so many flush Pacman left hands, to me, this fight looks like the Oscar fight for Pacman.

    Just my $.02

Pac has some of the worst footwork in boxing. He has good foot speed but his footwork is horrible, he crosses his feet punches with his foot in the air and comes in off balanced, don't confuse the two.:nono

Canelo has good boxing ability and is a smart fighter much smarter than Pac is he has good defense and a jab. Canelo would figure Pac out and time him counter the **** outta him as he comes in off balanced and reckless. Canelo would throw in combination on Pac who's not hard to find and bust him up. Canelo is no Margo who was nothing but a big slow moving target for Pac to tee off on against Canelo he would have a real boxer in front of him one who would dwarf him in the ring as well. Canelo by UD or late round stoppage would be me pick.:deal

"Pac some of the worst footwork in boxing?" This is a total OVERSTATEMENT! Yes he can be reckless but also his footwork is how he comes about a lot of the very peculiar and difficult to defend angles he gets on the opponent. Let's face it. Canelo would be lunch meat!

I'm not facing anything. Pac's footwork is very flawed nothing overstated about it. He has good footspeed but the fact remains his footwork is horrible. I think he would outbox Pac to a win. Canelo is the bigger and more skilled fighter.

The thing is, you can only counter Pac when you can manage defensively well or set up your shots on the front foot and I don't think Canelo could do either.
Also Pac's feet are fast and while he comes in leaping and 'out of position' that positioning means people get lit up when he throws his hands. He finds his left connecting over and over 'cuz of this foot movement. I wasn't comparing Canelo to Margo, but a diminished ODLH which I think is pretty fair, honestly. Canelo would eat lefts over and over and swing at air, probably turtle up and just survive after 6-7 rounds.

Pac will not have Canelo doing that Pac is off that EPO he was on earlier in his career. He can't move like that anymore. He's noticably frustrated by boxers and never looks good against them. A smart fighter like Canelo would figure Pac out and land power shots and combos on him. Pac isn't knocking Canelo out and he isn't outboxing him.

He's frustrated against counterpunchers like Marquez.
Why would Pacman suddenly stop juicing if he ever had? He hasn't. Neither has Marquez, nor has anybody else who uses PEDs. That isn't the point, the point is that he is old now. If Floyd could buzz Canelo and make him hesitant to have his hands leave his face, I think Pacman could genuinely hurt Canelo and move around him. I really just see Canelo eating leather and cutting up and quitting. Canelo's boxing skills are overrated, he got HURT by Cotto's shitty brother. His best walk off KO is against ancient, fat Baldomir. He looked shitty against Austin Trout for large portions of the fight. I don't buy Canelo or his superlative boxing skills. Pacman could be Sugar Ray Pacquiao if he fought Jose Miguel Cotto, Matthew Hatton, Ryan Rhodes, Carlos Baldomir and Josesito Lopez. Doing that **** to Pacman is a whole different story, he couldn't find a rhythm and he wouldn't land. Old ODLH would massacre this Canelo imo.

Wholly disagree! This may have been true in 2006 but now? Absolutely not. I think people refuse to see Manny as the much improved boxer that he is over the last 5 years. And that includes defense, footwork, ring savvy alla measured punches. This guy has totally improved as a boxer over the last 5 years.

Wholly agree except the Mayweather comparison. Floyd's hands are still ****ed up and that's why Canelo survived!
