Now before you come in here ranting and raving about I'm hating think about this and think about it objectively.

Margarito was never a champ at 154 the belt that pacquiao won yesterday was vacant. Although he is technically a 154 pd champ. He didn't earn that belt the real way. He IS NOT A LEGIT 154 Pound champ. To be a champ you have to take the belt from the champ.

People have been ranting and raving about Manny pacquiao and how he beat margarito while margarito weighed 167 pounds but IMO it's not really relevant. Manny is 1000x more skilled than margarito so it doesn't mean much. I weigh 200 pounds and if Pacquiao beat me in a fight for a vacant hw weight belt would it fairly make him a real heavyweight champ. He wouldn't be a legit champ. I think its the shame that people are buying into this whole facade, and not to discredit pacquiao becuase he DID beat the **** out of antonio margarito but he is not a legit 154 pound champ.

I have less of a problem with his opponent being Rockgloves to win the title than I do with the fact that the fight was contested at 150lbs and shouldn't be held for a 154lbs title. When two guys have already been to the top and still possess to a great extent the powers they once had, I don't mind them fighting for a title in a division they might not call "home", but I do have a problem with catchweights to steal belts. Is what it is, though.

The title is secondary imo. He is not a TRUE 8 weight champion, but he's a true 4 weight champion. That's good enough. Still a record.

On a side note, his title win at 150 against Margarito is IMO more significant than Oscar's WBO gift 6th title against Sturm. That was a flat out robbery.

It's less shameful than Sugar Ray Leonard fighting Donny Lalonde at a catchweight of 168 and getting both the WBC Super Middleweight and WBC Light Heavyweight belts at the same time. :deal

With the number of belts that there is right now being a multi division champ is not what it used to be. I'd say pacquiao is a legitamite champion but if this were 50 years agao it wouldnt have happened. He would have had to fight floyd for the 147 pound title and Martinez or Williams for the 154. I see him losing all those fights.

    Course it's not legit

Manny hand picked a shot fighter, perfectly suited to his style, asked him to make a catch weight, and fought for a vacant title?!

    How's that legit?

I don't give Manny 135 or 154. Not in the slightest.

I struggle with 147 as well.

But I'll give him 5-6 weights

In truth, most fighters, in regards to fighting current, top, world champions, for belts, normally only manage 4 divisions.

There are ways to grab a few more. Fixing it a bit. Catch weights. Hand picking your own opponent, for a vacant belt, is one of them.

Divisions where Floyd has beaten a real the genuine world champ in?

    Super Feather
    Lightweight
    Welter
    Junior Middle

Pacquiao? I'd give him 5 divisions. One more.

Oscar? I'd give him 5 as well. But much better opposition than both combined.

Jones? he only had 4, but truly dominated 3 of them for sustained periods

What pain. It's a statement. Quite a simple one.

I think Pacquiao hand picked opponents for two of his divisions, as he didn't fancy taking on any of the top guys there.

    David Diaz. Margarito

And hence doesn't get much credit for it.

if he'd beaten say Casamayor and Martinez in those two divisions, he'd be getting huge praise. Way more than he gets for what he's done.

    As that's real. Not fake
