I didn't get to watch the HBO telecast, first time I saw that BANG! BANG! BANG! stuff.. man was pretty embarrassing and funny as hell
Manny was just toying and a little frustrated that he could not get through the great wall of Ghana, so he decided to go around instead :yep
When a fighter fakes like he is hurt, that mean he just got hit... Pacquiao's two handed punch was more about toying with Clottey, not actually trying to hit him... Lampley's "BANG, BANG, BANG!" was a bit much, but I think he was just trying to infuse some excitement into a dull fight. Did it make him look silly? Yes, but I still gots mad respect for him.
I prefer Lampley over any of the other HBO commentators 10 times over and then some. Lampley is funny and has given us some great sound bytes in the past and continues to do so today. No hate here.
I would love to see him do it against Mayweather. Or that Ali shuffle he did in Morales III. That would be awesome..:yep
For a simple lack of a better word: Bang! For a simple lack of a better brain: 20 Bangs!!! :yep Rabbit punch.... and now the great Pacman just introduced to the boxing world the double-handed Crab punch....
yeah that was weird. talk about being friendly and lacking any animosity toward eachother. if he made the double punch work like Augustus did then it wouldve been even better. [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X47MbCeKSo4[/ame] This content is protected
I agree. Lampley is the best boxing commentator hands down, there is no one else I would rather have -- Lampley makes HBO fights. Showtime can copy all the bright lights, the intros, bring in all types of commentators but lets face it. Jim Lampley makes HBO boxing what it is today. (btw i would have loved to see Larry Merchant and Ferdie Pacheco commentating on a fight -- together.lol)
