Manny Pacquiao's strength and conditioning coach Justin Fortune is tipping Australian Jeff Horn to topple Jessie Vargas before setting his sights on a world title shot with Pacquiao. Top Rank's CEO Bob Arum signed a deal with Duco Events to co-promote the welterweight and Horn is being positioned for a world title shot in 2017. The target for Horn's camp is Pacquiao, but to promote that fight Horn would need to show he can beat the likes of Vargas or Timothy Bradley, both recent Pacquiao opponents. Pacquiao and Vargas fought in November which Pacquiao won with a unanimous decision. Fortune believes it will be Vargas next for Horn and the Australian will win. "I think Jeff Horn will beat Vargas," Fortune said.
Oh well of course this is newsworthy given Fortune's storied history of proving he KSAB... "Always trust what the random S&C guy thinks of a given match-up over the evaluations of, you know, actual boxing people." That's elementary!
Man, Horn would be the first opponent of Pacquiao's that I would be disappointed about (unless he KOs Jessie or Timmeh).
I like the fight, but if Vargas is the same fighter he was giving Timmeh fits, and blasting out Ali....... Horn gonna get his shiit pushed in. Vargas....KO 9
