    Spot on.

Although I would root for Cotto, the above statment is correct. Maybe in time if Cotto beats some good competition, but by then Pac will probably be retired.

:good, Cotto needs 2-3 moar fights to learn and improve under the tutelage of Steward before we know whether he can beat manny in a rematch, but pac will be retired by then.

Well Pacquiao-Cotto will generate more PPV than Pacquiao-Marquez. That's one of the reasons why Pacquiao would be better off for him to fight Cotto. Like I said before Marquez is slow at 135. Pacquiao will not move back to 135 because the big fights are at 147(mayweather) and 154(Cotto,Martinez, and Williams). It's true that Pacquiao beat Cotto convincingly but Cotto right now has a new trainer (I'm not discrediting Pacquiao's win against Cotto but Cotto didn't have the right game plan when they first fought) and it seems like Cotto is comfortable at 154. Pacquiao can barely make 147 that's a better challenge than fighting Marquez at 140.

I'm not trying to pick fight or anything but think about this if Pacquiao fights Marquez at 140, and Marquez gets annihilated KO him early. Pacquiao will get criticize because he didn't fight Marquez immediately. On the other hand if Pacquiao fights Cotto he'll get more credit because
    1.) It's a new weight class.
    2.) Pacquiao doesn't even belong at 147.
3.) Cotto looks better with Steward
    4.) It's for a title belt.

Don't forget that Cotto has heavy hands compared to Pacquiao. At 154 he can definitely hurt Pacquiao.

He didn't mean pac is too big and he has to drain himself for 147. Pac being the smallest welterweight is what he meant.

pac should fight martinez if ever he will intend to get a title at 154. beating cotto at 154 will just have little effect on his legacy!

The only thing is, their first fight didnt leave a lot of room for a rematch, not sure how the public would take this fight.

I remember doing a poll on preferred future top rank fights and a Pac rematch with Cotto at 150-154 received not very favorable responses. Funny how now after Cotto beats Foreman people are actually warming to the idea of a rematch. Myself, I don't like it. I was not impressed by Cotto. I actually thought Foreman might've been winning, granted I was watching it on a tiny screen. From what I could make out he did a good job moving not allowing Cotto to get off too many punches and I thought he was scoring more even if his punches were weak. I didn't see a new and improved Cotto. Maybe a more patient Cotto, but that might have more to do with Foreman's movement forcing him to constantly reset. I thought he looked better when he was running away from Pac in the 2nd half of their first fight, which seemed to frustrate Pac a bit. So if a rematch is going to happen it might just play out like that and won't be near as exciting as the first bout. If Pac were to go for a title at 154, I'd prefer it be against Martinez where he would have nothing to lose anyway. If he wins people will forget the Mayweather fight, and it would be one final astonishing feat for his legacy and put a stamp on a top 10 ATG career.
