    no im not i have a logical arguement. Im right but yous all dont know it yet

    It is any weight under 147lbs but if Cotto agrees to fight at 145lbs he is choosing to be a weight under 147lbs. He has a title so it should be eligible for it aswell.

    BTW if you guys odnt agree with me i will just keep posting telling you im right till you all agree haha :good

    im joking of course

    Again thats thats the heavier guy giving a concession to make the fight. That doesn't make it right though.

    Greg,

    Unless both boxers have the option of weighing in at 147 then its not for the Welterweight title. Surely you can see that?

    i understand your argument but im saying Cotto (if he chooses to entertain these clauses) will have chosen to fight at 145lbs

    for me tahts under the welterweight limit and Cotto has a title so it should be on the line

    I think it was Jackie Kid Berg (correct me if im wrong) when he was LWW champion fought at LW (possibly in a world title) and he lost his LWW crown was awarded to the guy who beat him.

    i did listen but i disagree with Gaz

    FFS, i've lost a bit of respect for Manny if this is true. Can he not see that real boxing fans think this is bull****!?

    The thing is, there should never be any clauses stating a fighter must boil down to a certain weight which is below the divisions limit.

    :lol::p

    Joking aside, I feel quite strongly about the issue. A welterweight title fight should be made at 147.:p

    i agree Gaz but if the fight is made at 145 there is no reason why the title shouldnt be on the line

    If the fight is made at 145lbs then it shouldn't be for the 147lbs title.

    Some of the reaction to this news is absolutely ridiculous, Manny Pac is the 'Money' fighter, he can demand what the hell he wants, like Oscar before him and Leonard 25 years ago. Pac is bringing in the mega money so he is control, if Cotto wnts the money and the prestige he has to agree to terms .. Cotto isnt half the fighter that Pac is and im not a Pac Zealot, i had Manny Pac losing both fights against Marquez, but Cotto should realise hes in a great 'money' position, this is a guy that got demolished against Margarito a year ago and didnt look a very good fighter against Clottey.
    Cotto should just sign on the dotted line and be greatful, if he overcomes his obvious crisis of confidence he has a chance but either way he's gonna make a packet.
    Manny can dictate any terms he wants, he's the man people want to see so his opponent should just sign, that is boxing business when your dealing with the pfp 1 fighter on the planet ..
