I understand what you are saying but Cotto didn't have the option of weighing those last 2 pounds. For a genuine welterweight title fight both boxers have to have the option of weighing in at the limit of 147. Simple as that mate.

Nobody gives a **** about what belt people are holding when its the P4P number 1 fighter, Manny Pac is the 'Money' Fighter, divisions, weights mean nothing .. Manny is holding all the cards, he can do what he wants, the question is 'How much ground are his opponents willing to give up' ....

Manny definately lost the first Marquez fight, and Marquez was worth a draw in the rematch for me ....

Manny shouldnt be judged as harshley as Oscar in the 'Money Fight Picking' stakes, Oscar did it his whole career. Oscar was a great fighter at Lightweight but when he went to Welter, he really didnt win a fight .. I had Pernell beating him and Quartey ..

i get you but Gaz if Cotto signs to fight at 145 he chooses to fight at that and it is within the WW limit so his belt should be on the line.

The Belt means absolutely nothing, Manny has moved beyond belts .. Its all about Money and Prestige for him now. It doesnt matter if he holds a Welter belt .. He is the PFP 1 fighter, he can fight at any catchweight he wants because he is the guy the public want to see .... Cotto needs to sign that contract at 145 because of his legacy .. Nobody cares if he reigns at 147, edging the likes of Clottey, he has the chance of taking down the PFP number 1, if he doesnt suck it up and does it, his legacy is finished especially after the Margarito demolition .... This is a huge opportunity for Cotto, he needs to put his name on that contract if he wants to put his name with the greats .. Cotto needs to leave his ego at the door and realise what it would mean to his future career to beat Manny Pac ............ If he doesnt take this opportunity then Mosley definatley will ..
