As of now no, strongly. Let him make a few defences or against someone healthy prime and willing to fight. Never liked Cotto, but when everything aligned for him he was very good, and still more proven !

Just repeating There Will Be Blood's logic. He poo-pooed Mayweather's win over Alvarez because Alvarez was "drained". Cotto was similarly "drained" against Pac.

Another thing, Spence is not coming in from a brutal beating like Cotto was when he faced Pacquiao.

So what? Alvarez was a champ at 154 at the time and weighed in at 153 his previous fight.

You can't follow the logic, dummy? That 1 pound affected Drugnelo far more than it affected Cotto. Cotto is a small 154er and Drugnelo is going up to 168.

Plus Mikey is bigger than Pacquiao. Taller, thicker, stronger.

Fight was at a 145 catch weight. Arum really screwed Cotto there. Bob supposedly promoted both, but stacked the deck in Manny's favor.

So? Cotto rebounded from his beating ok. Went on to perform as usual.

Cotto was a much more well rounded fighter. He could move better, he could throw crisper combinations, he varied his attack. But, he was a bit weight drained and not training properly at the time. He had dismissed his uncle over the summer and was pretty much running his own camp.

Plus, Pac back then was leaps better than Mikey is now. Dude was a beast.

So, I think a Mikey victory is less likely, and as such would give it credit as the better win.

Maybe... Because Spence hasn't fought anyone that's been considered a killer? His best win is a drained and broken Brook and he was getting schooled for long stretches at a time.

And JMM needed roids to beat a Pac that had taken a savage beating from Margarito.

lol It only affected Alvarez more because you are a Pac stan and hate Mayweather because he clowned your hero. At the time, neither Cotto or Alvarez had problems making the weight of their divisions.

Cotto mixed it up with the likes of Margarito, Judah, Clottey, and Mosely.

Spence struggled with a drained and broken Brook. His next best wins are shot Algieri and PEDerson.

You can't follow the logic because you're a Joy Boy. Or you drinking too much of that Detroit tap water.

One guy is a small 154er and the other guy is moving up to 168.

Pac beat a drained Cotto who had just lost his father and was destroyed by a loaded gloved Margo. Mikey beating an undefeated monster in Spence at 147 in a fight no one gives him a chance in would be the better win.

lol Alvarez fought at no higher than 155 for the next three years after the Mayweather fight. Cotto moved to 154 after fighting Pac. Cotto was the one that was weight-drained.
