Just to confirm, Brian Campbell said of that ESPN list: 'Do people still not understand what P4P actually means? It's not a ranking of who accomplished more. Never was. It's about who is better.' This content is protected I have no problem with anyone thinking PBF was better, but he certainly wasn't greater. Look how low some of these great fighters are on the list. I feel genuinely disrespected that these outlets aren't bowing and scraping and outbidding eachother for my opinion. They're beneath me.
Its not so what. Man, resume is the biggest factor in determining greatness. Don't tell me you're one of those guys who rates Terry Norris over Leonard.
That's right and ESPN holds more weight than any of us here it was made up by a panel of writers and historians not just one person. The list has more credibility than your bitter hating ass, remember you made a thread titled "PBF never dared to be great", how can anyone take you seriously after that? Log off you're disqualified from serious boxing debate. Hell some of Pac's biggest fans were on the ESPN panel and he still came up short to PBF, let it go. And while you're at it why don't you post the RING's article and list to which listed PBF 12th and Pac wasn't even listed in the top 20. That's what happens when you go life and death 4 times and get brutally koed by JMM a guy PBF shut out, you're no where near as great or better than PBF and The Ring and ESPN rankings prove it.
See post 41 on this thread It was on The Ring's website but of course you have to pay to see it. But the article is all over the net and was the talk of boxing forums during that time.
So because Floyd could theoretically beat anybody on Pac's resume that makes Floyd greater? Shannon Briggs knocks out everybody on Pac's resume. What difference does that make?
How is Manny greater? Fought declining Morales. Basically tied with Marquez who isn't considred an ATG. Fought old Mosley. Fought beat up Cotto. Fought KOd Hatton. Fought way past his prime and severely dehydrated DLH. Fought a Margarito who was KTFO by old Mosley. I just don't see how an argument could be made that Manny is greater. He fought names sure but WHEN did he fight them? One could make the same arguments about Floyd (past prime DLH, beat up Cotto, old Mosley) but in the end the litmus test was their fight against each other and Floyd proved who is better of the two.
I see that this list isn't to be taken seriously. WTF has Bumlovkin ever done to warrant a ranking this high on an ATG list?!? Those idiots over @ ESPN need to lay off the Heroin...
Junior Jones beat Pacquiao's best win *before* Pacquiao did. Therefore, if Pacquiao is greater than Floyd based on the Barrera win then so is Junior Jones. 1 + 1 = 2
Nah, Pac was knocked out twice early in his career. Does that mean that Singsurat is greater than Morales?
That's becasue you have to pay to see it. But there was a thread here about it and I linked it in post
