    I don't get it, why are people bringing up the Marquez fights trying to make Pac look mediocre. Everyone agrees that stylistically, JMM gave Pac fits, but is this really proof that Pac isn't all that good or proof of just how good Marquez is? Sure, Marquez gave Pac all sort of problems, but the fact is even though Marquez had the skill and style that was perfect against Pacquiao, he still wasn't able to beat Pac decisively (or even win at all, depending on how you score it).

    Does the fact that Marquez was able to land the right so often prove that Pac is mediocre against counterpunchers? Of course not, it shows that Pac has a really difficult time against elite counter punchers. There's nothing mediocre about that at all. If you go against great opposition, you will get competitive fights. That's the way it should be, Pac can't always look incredible in the ring if he goes against top competition.

    And sure, one can say that the Marquez fight is a peek into what Mayweather will do against Pac. Definitely Pac will get hit by a lot of clean counters against Mayweather. But that's just half of the equation, whatever you think, Pac still has the best offense of all active fighters out there. Saying Pac will get hit by counters and straight rights against Mayweather isn't a "great analysis". It's a given and any fan with decent boxing knowledge knows that. The real challenge for all you "expert analysts" here is to figure out how Pac will land against Mayweather and what will happen when he does. Because if slow, overweight Marquez was able to land cleanly against Mayweather, do you honestly think Pac won't?

    Divac is knowledgable but in my opinion he lets his "preferences" cast shawdows over common sense and logic....but it's clear he has a grasp and understanding about the sport..he just puts a lot of spin on things.

    You can state it that way about the knockdowns, sure.......

    ......but interesting to note that they did fight 24 rounds, of which the last 23 rounds only one knockdown was scored!:deal

    Hillarious the way a Pacfan would put it would make it seem like Marquez was going down from Pacquiao's blows every few rounds........yet Marquez only went down once in the last 23 rounds fought.

    Marquez said it best about getting knockdown 3 times the first round he ever fought Pacquiao....."I was careless, and quite frankly did'nt guage his ability to close distance so fast."

    I think that in itself explains why Marquez went the other 23 rounds only having been knockdown once.

    No shame at all going down against Manny Pacquiao!

    Pac + Counterpuncher = Mediocre Pacquiao

    therefore: Counterpuncher = Mediocre Pacquiao - Pacquiao

    Counterpuncher = Mediocre

    thats not how algebra works.. :think

    P + C = MC
    therefore : C = MP - P
    C = (M - 1)P

    ... your math is wrong lol

    So, what happens if Cotto won that fight? What would you say then? Cotto is better and still has it, and Pacman is just too weak to be a WW, right? Well, all of that stuff are opinions. Opinions are subject to change and that's pretty dog on common. I'll be willing to bet my house that they will change their opinions about Cotto being a shot fighter if he had beaten Pacman.

    Pacman beat Cotto by out hustling him, out punching him, and out thinking him. Period!

    Cotto already beat Mosley, so Cotto is great for the Pacman's resume. However, don't you worry because Pacman will fight Mosely if the money is right. I bet you he will beat him too. No excuses.

    Exactly!!!
