Yeah its just a decoy for the left.

DID YOU SEE THE LEFT SIDE OF COTTO'S FACE.

Cotto stopped throwing his jab for damn good reason. He got tired of eating right hooks.

If Pacquiao is that much better now......I wonder why he did'nt take the JMM fight at 140 lbs against JMM, before fighthing Hatton.......
.....if sucessful, it certainly would have gotten Marquez out of the picture and taken away any stain on his record by naysayers that say he was beaten twice by Marquez.

I believe that if Roach was certain that he now had a whole new fighter fighting for him, he'd have insisted Marquez go first at 140 lbs and then taken on Hatton.

......but that just was'nt the case.......Roach knows his business, and fighting JMM was'nt one of them!:yep

I think Roach knows very well that not only is JMM a superior fighter to his......but he also knows damn well that Marquez knows how to fight a southpaw.

...and pac likely to eat floyd's right straights as well..

..and that's why this fight has to be made. Will Floyd Mayweather gets past pac's aggressiveness and southpaw stance? Or will Manny Pacquiao beats floyd's tight defense and counterpunches..

..either way, Pacquiao TKO9 Mayweather Jr

First of all great thread by the author and excellent analysis. To the person who mentioned Manny's faults and "he'll find a way to win", sighing. Can you come up with something more concrete jesh??

That said here's another point that hasn't been stated. While Manny's balance has been addressed, his INABILITY to fight while going backward hasn't. This is the problem with COME forward, overly aggressive fighters. When they meet someone who can fight backwards and who has effective tools to subside their aggression, they become very stationary targets that are easy to hit.

Floyd not only has a sizeable reach advantage but the fact he's fast, he can recoil that much quicker than Manny can attempt to counter it. In other words Manny is going to have to sell out big time to attempt to land something big.

Lastly, I love how people devalue Floyd's Marquez's win saying Marquez was blown up, blah, blah. Maybe we saw two different fights but Floyd didn't beat Marquez by outmuscling him or imposing his size. He pretty much used his defense to open up his opportunities. Those punchstats were staggering. That said, Marquez undersized or not is NO walk in the park. I personally don't see how Manny will address how someone counters his aggression.

To me the fight will look worse than his Morales I fight.

Are you saying JMM at 145 to 147 is as efficient at 130lbs when PAC fought him?!

    YES OR NO?! :deal

styles makes fights. When a fighter comes with something knew to the table, people are not going to be familiar with it, but when they study it, then they will figure it out. That is why I think floyd is going to win this fight. He studies his opponents way before he decides to fight them.

Okay you want something concrete, here it goes. The man has many flaws like what the media/critics mentioned, but he always overcome it with sheer agression and speed.

Here are the tangibles, first, his right hook is so much better, probably almost the same or better right hook than what Judah used to put Mayweather in check. Second, his foot work and foot speed have improved as well. He is not the same bull rushing mofo; he attacks when he smells blood of course. Third, he is a very good pressure fighter, and he will make Mayweather uncomfortable with his pressure. Floyd will be hugging and going to his shell to protect his body and chin while Pacquiao pressures him with lightning combination. When FMW is trap, he is going to break down eventually by Pacman's punches in bunches, and there's no doubt in my mind that his fragile body will eventually break down. The only way he can avoid the Pacman's assault is by running all night and not engage at all. BTW, Pacquiao is way smarter than what you think...just look at how he took all of Cotto's punches and took his heart away at the same time. He psychologically and physically beat the guy. Pacman will fight Mayweather with controlled aggression, and we shall see on fight night who is the faster guy.

So, here are the intangibles, Pacman is one mystical dude due to him carrying crazy power and speed all the way up to 145lbs, and the dude throw his punches from all crazy angles that his' opponents don't see. You can study the tangibles, but I don't think you can study for the intangibles. Yes, Floyd has great reflex, that I don't doubt at all, but we shall see on fight night how will Floyd reacts to pacman's sheer aggression and speed.

Granted, Floyd is a great defensive and offensive fighter when he wants to, but you're too biased to give Manny his credit. Moreover, to say that this fight will look worse than his Morales I fight is just plain ignorant, and you just justified your own prejudice.

Roach and Pacman too, so may the more studious guy win, LOL.

Yeah sure, keep on dreaming buddy. If you're wrong please make sure you come back here and eat some crow for us, alright. I will bet 30Gs on this fight, and if this fight happens around mid Summer next year it will be perfect for me because I'll be back from the IZ by then. Remember this, Floyd will be injured in this fight...just a gut feeling. Him and his Dad might cry and ask for more test on Pacman. The world will be shock once again. You can't mess with God's power my friend, and Manny has it. That's why some people call him mystical and has super natural power.
