JMM-Pacquiao II did 525k ppv buys.

Anyway, it did a little bit better than I predicted at 200k, just barely enough to pay to bills. Thats what happens when the promoter goes cheap with the entire card.

250k is good considering that no one knows who Diaz is ... or the fight wasn't promoted that well.

    250K is really good people

250K @ 50$ is 12.5 mill gross. say half goes to HBO thats 6.25 enough to cover the purses and a nice profit to Arum, not counting the gate

    i had predicted 250 to 300 but i thought i overshot it

I think the confusion here over the JMM-Pac rematch PPV buys, stems from the fact that it was initially reported that the fight had done somewhere in excess of 400K......

.....Arum and GBP were actually happy with that number......but the 400K was only an early estimation that had been reported in various internet sites.....when all the PPV counts were in, it was later revised to have sold 525K!

In the caos of debating the results of the JMM-Pac rematch, I never got a chance to toot my own horn just a little bit.....Before the JMM-Pac rematch had been signed, Pac fans argued that it made no sense for Pac to fight JMM and sacrifice a bigger % of his purse, when he could fight David Diaz and make the same amount either way.....
My rebuttal was that if the JMM-Pac rematch was promoted properly by HBO and all involved, (which it was), that it would do in excess of 500k and make Pac a shitload of money!
Needless to say I was laughed at by most Pac fans in this forum.:nut
.....let me just get the last laugh......

It was said that JMM could'nt draw flies.....yet his rematch with Pac sold significantly more PPV than either of Pac's fights with the supposed draws MAB or Morales!:deal :yep :blurp :smooch

Btw, if the reported 250K is indeed true, (I have my doubts until its officially announced)......its a far cry from the ridiculous numbers that PacDbest had predicted, but its slightly more than what I would have thought it could sell.
I would have guessed that it would have done below 200K, but if it did 250K, honestly thats not so bad considering that most knowleadgeable fans looked at David Diaz on par with a punching bag!

as a Pac fan i always thought the Pac vs JMM rematch would do huge numbers, more than any other Pac fight had done.

There was so much hype surrounding that fight.

It makes me laugh looking back now how some people thought Pac was scared of JMM or vice versa.

I think you and PacDbest were equally wrong

Just thought id bring that up cos everytime the Solis and Larios numbers were mentioned, you were adamant in saying that it only did over 200k cos of Arce & Chavez jnr. Always failing to give Pac credit. I didnt even know the undercard could draw more than 30k of fans, specially in Flyweight! I predicted 300k which wasnt too far off and had there been a countdown for this, I think it would have easily done those numbers.

Maybe I was closer than you think.....the latest news over at Btalk is that the rumor is that the Pac-Diaz PPV numbers were abysmal.....under 200K, which would be more in the ballpark I predicted.

I've already said that if the numbers are indeed 250K (reports now are that they're not) thats not bad at all considering who Pac was fighting.

.....but lets wait and see the official numbers.....if Btalks rumors are correct, believe me, you'll here from me again!:deal :hey :yep :hi:

250k is actually large considering that i only expected about 200k buys from this fight, the undercard is exciting but the names are unknown, luevano, soto, fields...its such a weak roster that i think 250k is good considering that.
