Best version of Pac I've seen in a very long time. He just faced a Marquez that was determined to end this one inside the distance.

We've seen the best Pacquiao last night, until he got Hattonplanked by Marquez. Props to the two great fighters tho..

Yes Marquez did win becuase he was superior, however Pac was still prone to cramps as Ariza said in an interview before the fight that Pac had been cramping all over in preparation and he'd had to bring in a specialist to treat the crampin. Also he noted that the leg cramps Pac had complained of had only occured since Pac had stopped doing his complete conditioning program. On a final note Pac was suffering from cramps last night as Larry Merchant noted they were massaging his calves between rounds.

Since the run where Pac did Arizas complete program was from David Diaz to Antonio Margarito and included De La Hoya, Cotto, Hatton and Clottey, some of his most impressive performances, I don't think it can be said that the training made him slower, stiffer and bulkier. In fact since cessation of the complete program his performances seem to have suffered. Based on that it'd seem that Roach made a fairly dumb call.

Well he looked amazing until he was hit with a perfect flush counter punch and was knocked out cold.

So he was doing nearly everything right upon that moment when he got caught.

People keep saying he looked amazing up to the knock out, but actually no, I don't think he did. He looked good cos he was allowed to look so by Marquez. Marquez was not there to box, let's get that straight. He was looking for the KO, he was more flat footed and was looking for big shots, that was clear. That of course allowed Manny to be more competitive this time round and have some success. Marquez was setting him up and was prepared to out punch a marauding come forward Manny.

Marquez could have back peddled and boxed Pacman, but he knew there was no point in leaving this for the judges. He trained for the KO, it was all about power punching, this was a Marquez who was coming to destroy his opponent. Look at where his right hands were coming from, look at the first knock down too. He was prepared to risk being caught himself if it meant he gave himself a chance to land the KO punch.

Manny looking good was more down to Marquez, his balance was still awful, look closely, he was circling in to Marquez right hand too, and there was very little thought in his style. His legs were not that quick either. Lack of conditioning could well have been a factor but Marquez was just brought with him a high risk strategy and it paid paid off.
