"Least black"?:rofl Floyd thinks he embodies "Blackness". And he's seen as the 2nd best boxer in the world so PAC is getting a lot of respect from everyone b/c he's PROVING with ACTIONS that he's willing and capable of fighting ANYONE....the problem is getting Floyd interested and motivated enough to take the risk. Shane's willing....but he's un-capable....but he's a African american and one of the best WW's in the world.

 

Not really, Floyd is just about it IMO, maybe PW if he wins tonight but the guys at 140 are neither good enough nor do they bring any fan fare, Berto is cool but he Pac would TKO him. I really don't see any options outside of Mayweather or possibly PW.

Why would anyone want to see, let alone, PAY for a fight, where the conclusion is predetermined? He will out hustle Shane and tag him several times...leading to a UD. Will he stop Shane? I don't think so. If Shane does ANYTHING, in that fight, he WILL stay on his feet. It's just not the fight I want to see right now....or EVER...at this point. Because, Shane is not coming off any type of performance, that gives the impression he would be able to keep up with Manny, for 12 rounds, and, actually, do more than shake his fists with the urge to punch, but, be unable to pull the trigger. That is not the SHANE I want to see...EVER...against ANY opponent. They are picking Shane NOW, because, they see where he is at this stage of his career. Not to mention, Freddie "saw his last two fights." Also, he has a name that people recognize.

Prior to Floyd, Shane's most recent performance was OUTSTANDING. This is what people remembered, and based much of their belief that the fight with Floyd would be competitive. Not to mention, Floyd had not faced a fighter that big or strong, in awhile, the two had a HISTORY, etc. Given the circumstances and the timing (Shane being the best WW, #3 P4P, etc), it was the second best fight to make, after Manny.

What would the hype be in promoting the fight with Shane & Manny? NONE. It's just another fight, where they promote this whole David and Goliath angle, that has proven successful, up to this point. But, has become quite predictable. And it is no more than cherry picking. People will catch on, at some point.
