He likes to slide that way also after throwing the straight left. He did that quite a bit against Larios, and when he was doing that versus DLH, I figured DLH would try to counter with the left hook, and throw the left hook low so Pacquiao would run into it.

But DLH wasn't able to counter effectively, he was too slow and Pacquiao too quick.

 

That is a priceless piece of video editing.

It just shows how brainless hatton was in the ring. they studied and anticipated that move of MP but still its the one that made him kiss the canvass first time in the fight.

Or maybe he just thought he can easily absorb that punch without any damage.

 

Kind of a case of confusing symptom and cause.

Ricky realized they were training the right hook (symptom) but didn't realize that his own flawed left hook (cause) was the reason why.

 

A few years ago they said the same thing except that all he had was jab-straight left.
