At least Floyd fights guys coming off of performances where they DO perform well.

Manny fights guys that have been beaten down, coming off of a loss, brutally Ko'ed, or drained to make ridiculous catchweight demands.

His opponent selection since he left Top Rank has actually been better. Lest we forget, that Hatton and Mosley were listed as guys that Floyd was too scared to fight, and then once he beat them, they became shot or over the hill to the Pac tards.

The point is, the man is the most skilled, most technical and slickest boxer of his generation. Just like Leonard. Mayweather said he would whoop the asian midget's ass, that it would be an easy fight. Then suddenly he throws a curve ball by asking for an unwarranted drug test despite his opponent-to-be's clean record? That he is on vacation and lost his urge.

So it won't be a surprise that people would compare what is happening right now to what happened to Leonard and Hagler, which in the opinion of the majority is Leonard delayed the fight until he saw Hagler declined.

Praise to Leonard that despite his long lay-off, his surgery to a career threatening eye issue, he did fight right away (with no tune-up fight, not sure about this) the long time undisputed and lineal champ of a division he never fought at. And mind you, he didn't ask for OSDT depite Hagler's amazing accomplishment. Will Mayweather do the same?
