This is ridiculous. For one, no way official numbers have come out yet. For two, Mosley DOES NOT have the drawing power of Cotto; to think that he does is ridiculous.

 

I will try to answer this with out flamming or dissing you.

1.- Shane has no real fan base.

If you watched the weigh-in, there were two types of people at that weigh-in. Those who love Money May which was about 49% of the crowd and then there were those who HATE Floyd, which was about 51% of the crowd.

Cotto has more fans than Shane believe me, to this day, Cotto still has a pretty big fan fan base and it's not just all of Puerto Rico, and we have to consider how few Puerto Ricans there are in the world.

Bottom Line here is SHANE HAS NO FANS. I am no huge fan of Mosley, I don't know any one who goes GA GA over shane, do you?

And you can't deny how many annoying Cotto Nuthuggers are on forums either. They are pretty large and opinionated on plenty of major forums.

The only reason Cotto does not have a bigger fan base than any of the above, is because there just aren't that many Ricans on earth.

Floyd is and was the MAIN attraction at this fight between Mosley and this is coming from some one who does not like Floyd. (ME)

Manny Pacquiao is on the juice and that is why people are flocking to him. If you don't think Manny is cheating, then you are the kind of people that we read about who get scammed via email, or scammed on the street buying fake gold chains or getting took at three card molly. Once Manny get's exposed, if he ever mans up that is, his base will fall apart faster than a rabbit get's plucked. Sure Manny has a lot of fans. I think there are about 3 Million Filipinos in the States alone, of course Manny is going to have a big draw being that there are plenty of them here in the states. The rest of Manny fans are just being suckered in by the CHEATING PACTURD.

Shane is as big of a draw as Cotto.....if not more of a draw b/c he's a legend in the sport. Regardless......Floyd is a top draw and so is Manny in the US. Who is more popular? Who knows....but it's not clear enough to say one way or the other! That's how close they are in terms of their US popularity. If this was a WORLDWIDE debate.....Manny of course is the more popular fighter....but in the US I'd say Floyd may be more popular by a hair. And I could be wrong. Manny's popularity is growing.

You're silly! PAC ain't cheating.....no more than Floyd himself. ANd Floyd knows that. He just needed a way to stall negotiations to either avoid facing Manny b/c he knows Manny is capable of beating him...OR...he spread lies and rumors about his potential foe to set up the blood testing demands to delay the fight so that the promotion will be even bigger the 2nd go round.

Either way Floyd is as dirty and Manny in the sense that both guys have never been caught cheating or known to be doping.....So if one is cheating and getting away with it so is the other one.

The problem is there aren't ANY testing measures out there today that is 100%. Including USADA's testing protocol. The people who are cheating now are the same one's who will continue to cheat and get away with it...NO MATTER what tests they come up with.

 

Shane is about level with Cotto in terms of his fan base and being an attraction. Just like Floyd and Manny are pretty much on level in terms of ther US popularity.

 

I don't know the numbers yet, but there are some slight problems with you're comparison. The most important one is that unlike Cotto, Mosley virtually has NO fans. Nobody hates him, but no one is a fan of his either. Cotto has a pretty big fanbase. A small example is a poll that was taken up here not too long ago where he was voted as the most popular fighter on this site. His overall fanbase is not as big as Mayweather's or Pacquiao's, but it's good. If this fight sold 1.2 million and Pacquiao-Cotto sold 1.25 million what does that say about Mayweather's selling power? He sold almost as much in two straight fights against fighters with no real fanbases in America. You would have seen that this was a pretty dumb argument if you thought about it first.
