Shane has a fan base in the US! He's AMERICAN and he's a legend in the sport. His PPV numbers are pretty much equal to Cotto's who have both had solid PPV numbers. I think you are down playing Shane's fan base vastly.

Most thought this fight would do around 1.9 Million....maybe 2 million so they obviously felt Shane had his own following....OR they over shot Floyd's drawing power. Either way anytihng over 1 million is great...but it does show that Manny and Floyd are pretty much on level in terms of their popularity in just the US.

PAC when he faced Hatton was a bigger draw and the split was only 50/50 b/c Ricky included the UK PPV sales which was all gonna go to himself. Intially Ricky agreed to the 60/40 split for the US PPV's but when Manny learned about the UK PPV's he wanted an even split down the line b/c he would make more that way.

as i have been saying for the past 2 years, shane would never be that interesting to countries other than USA and maybe the UK... whereas cotto vs pacquiao gathers viewers from puerto rico, phillipines, usa AND uk. so take away puerto rico and the philipines, do you still think pac would have done more numbers than floyd vs mosley?
