Pea vs Chavez to me is what I considered a RECENT fight.

If that is your standard, then you would be a "new fan" in my book.

I watched The NY Daily News Golden Gloves in MSG back in the late 80s with my grandfather.

I also assume you are new to boxing since if you know the history of boxing you would be aware of the long history of boxers from various countries. America might have dominated the sport, but even in the earliest days great boxers came from all over the world. Is Pac and Donaire the only Filipino boxers you know?
I assume Chavez it the oldest Mexicans boxer you know also?

Not a 'hardcore' fan of Pac, but def one of my fav fighters.

I was a casual fan, I watched SRL, ODLH, Tyson, Holyfield, Mosley etc fights .. the big names.

But after the Pac Diaz fight was around the time I was converted into a real boxing fan

 

Been watching boxing since I was a kid and Tyson was tearing through the HW division. I've never been to the Philippines.

I've been a boxing fan since the early 90's. I used to watch boxing with my dad back when they had tuesday night fight on USA network. My dad is the one that got me into boxing.

I saw pac vs ledwaba but i didn't think much of him back then. I thought barrera would whoop his ass.

watched Tyson (after prison) with my pops n uncles. i was too young then.

 

You must be new to boxing if you don't know any Filipino boxers aside from Pac and Nonito.

Not quite right! Boxing has long been existing then in Manila. Pinoy boxing fans like me watched big fights then like Ali vs Frazier, Frazier-Foreman, Ali-Foreman, SRL-Duran, SRL-Hearns, Hearns-Duran, Duran-Hagler, Hagler-Hearns, etc. aired live on free tv.

 

Y eah, I remember following the great PELE and Maradonna in actgion.
