Some people here (like threadstarter) like to comment and give opinions on things that they know very little about and not so familiar with, and just guess or assume or make up **** and try to make people believe that it's the truth.

That's basically what a ***** is. They make **** up and believe it's the truth that applies to everybody else. Kinda like they believe that Floyd really wants to fight Pac.

Yep. British fighter who started with a bang and then fizzled.

Reminds me a lot of Cotto, even the facial features, built.

I thought when he started that he would make it big.

    Back to the topic -

It just amazes me that Michigay would state that you need to watch 150 fights to be an expert.

I remember bieng around 3 or 4 when Flash Elorde was fighting, although towards the end of his career and everybody would be glued to the small black and white TV. That was my first recollection of a fight, then the Ali (all of them including his not so prime fights) plus the fab 4.

There was even a monthly sports magazine with lots of boxing in it and the thing I can vividly recall (i don't know why this one stuck while I can nt recall any other) was Alexis Arguello having had titanium plates in his hands (of course I could already read at 3 years old).

There was a lull however when the demand of university plus the fact that the heavyweight division became a joke (like now) when there was more hugging than punching.

The *****s just started to have their first computer and based their "knowledge" on Youtube and all of the sudden they are "experts"?

TBQH, I'm a Filipino that only got into boxing because I was dragged into Pacquiao parties, which is lame. At first I wanted to see Pac beat up and lose so it would end, but I eventually became a fan of him. I feel Pac is a decent gateway fighter, and researching his opponents and future opponents led me to gain a genuine interest in the sport, which is more than I can say for most of the other members of my family.

I just wish there was a decent boxing community out there that didn't degrade into pointless hateful insults and a constant tug-of-war of speculative "I told you so's."

Not everybody watching and enjoying boxing need to be boxing experts and historians.

    Same as in other sports.

Nothing wrong with just enjoying watching some fighter you support beat up his opponent.

    It's entertainment.
