The size difference will be to much for Manny and Oscar even at this stage willprobably stop him.........This is the type of fight that makes boxing look bad and somewhat desperate for attention that is not necessary,he should fight the Cotto,Margo winner if he is capable of making 147 like all of a sudden he says he can,or fight Paul Williams or Winky at 154.The point is there are options out there but he is opting for the smaller man who he could bully rather than take the chance of being bullied by the other guys mentioned.I think a fight with Manny is a disgrace and is only being done for the money(Obviously) and Oscar should take of his TuTu and grow back his balls..:rasta

Id like to see Pac - DLH. Even if Pac gets molested it would be entertaining.

The way Oscar has been manipulating the game for years is bad. That being said he will for the most part continue to get what he wants because he fills the seats and sells the PPV ... my question is can Paq hurt him? If he can Paq has the speed and conditioning to beat him. Paq is much faster and Oscar will not find him easy to hit. Once it gets past round four Oscar slows down ... it really comes down to if Paq can sting him and I'm not so sure he can ...

Oscar wants zero part of Cotto which would be a superfight as Cotto is very tough and talented but his questionable chin gives Oscar a serious punchers chance.

I agree. I think the other comment in this thread (Zhaakal) is everything that is wrong with boxing fans today. Where is the enjoyment in watching a guy being beaten up by a guy too big for him and that he should never have been allowed to face?

Don't forget, we are talking now about matching two guys, one who has held a world title at MIDDLEWEIGHT (160lbs) and one who has held a world title at FLYWEIGHT (112lbs).

I have been very critical of Joe Calzaghe on these pages for taking the easy option and fighting a past-it RJJ, but I think DLH is doing something even worse in considering this fight. And it really hurts me as a DLH fan. I believe DLH was the catalyst that shook boxing from its early-mid 90s malaise and started the best fighters wanting to put it all on the line and take the risk of fighting each other for the glory and the greatness that would follow. He was the one who pursued the unbeaten Trinidad and made that fight happen, and he had no need to jump up to middleweight and risk fighting a bigger man in Hopkins, but DLH always wanted to fight the best. I pray this fight doesn't happen as it will forever taint my memory of that young, hungry, fearless, honourable hero.

Ha ha, i'll be laughing if De la hoya losses by KO. That is what he gets for picking on little Pacquiao.

Quit your hypocritical bitching. Whats the big deal? Manny started as a flyweight and now he's a lightweight. Nobody said anything about him fighting Diaz at 135. Likewise DLH satrted at 130 lbs. and no one got bent when he fought Hopkins at 160.
This is boxing! They sign a contract and meet competitively with the same equipment and rules.
Ever heard of Byrd-Klitchko, Dempsey-Willard, Jones-Ruiz? Look at the size and weight differences.

you honestly dont see any problem that Oscar is going to make someone move up THREE WEIGHT DIVISIONS to fight him? most people believe that Delahoya cant make 147 anymore so the fights probably gonna have to be at a catchweight under jr. middleweight.

i agree with the thread starter. the size advantage in the lower weight classes are real and thats why these matchups arent ever made.

i couldnt imagine how any boxing fan can respect Delahoya if he lets this fight happen.

Oscar is "MAKING" (as you put it) anyone do anything. Pac's camp has been playing with that idea a long time. It's they who want to challenge Oscar to test Pac's limits.

Hell If they paid me 50 million dollars to fight a midget I would, wouldn't you?:patsch

Most people aren't DLH, he and his camp know what DLH can make, and if they feel or kow he can make 147 then I'm sure he can. He made 150, I don't see why 3 pounds of water weight with extra training should be hard to lose. The point is the if Pac wants to fight ODLH at 175, then that is Pac's choice and only a fool would decline $50,000,000.00

What is it to you? It's an exhibition fight that many would pay to watch.

Oscar might not have as easy a time with PAcquiao as people think but thats not the point. The fight is a joke cause Oscar is a nobody (apart from generating money) in today's boxing picture and Pacquiao has plenty of challenges at his weight.
