Oscar would fight Willie Pep if it would make Golden Boy Productions another $20 million.

Now, fight Jake LaMotta.....don't think so.

I sure hope all the ink this potential fight is getting is only for whatever benefits it can give boxing, and not because the parties are seriously considering actually doing the fight.

One: Pac's best punches wouldn't dent Oscar one bit. Mayorga landed his haymakers on Oscar's noggin, and they didn't have the effect Mayorga wished they would, not even close.

Two: When those left hooks land, it wouldn't matter how physically big for his body Pac's head is. It's a serious ring accident waiting to happen, and it's not going to help boxing's cause a bit.

I still believe all this hoopla is just smokescreen for the negotiations that will come for the real dish Arum and GBP are eyeing: Cotto-DLH, and they are awaiting a Cotto victory over Margarito. But I'm not so sure they won't pull the trigger on DLH-Pac if Margarito wins on the 26th.

you seem to understand what my problem is with this fight.

you should admit that instead of spending so much time trying to argue with people.

    Lame justification.

Fact . . . Duran's first 3 fights were at 140 before he went back down to 135.

The Hagler/Duran fight is a legit title fight. While it's true that Duran started at a lower weight . . . he was the WBA JR middleweight title holder when he fought Hagler for the WBA; WBC and IBF Middle weight titles. :D

What title has DLH have now? And what title has Pacquaio have now? And they are fighting at what weight? :think

    :yep

It's not like Oscar was the one pushing the fight. He's getting called out by one of the most exciting fighters out there ( who dosn't stand a chance). And now Arum is starting to see the dollar signs pushing the issue. DLH has been trying to avoid it. He showed Interest in Trinidad, but that isn't happening. He said he would Like a Mega fight with Cotto.

When did Oscar say "I would like a fight with Manny". It's been Pacquiao's camp pushing for this fight.

If Oscar dosn't take it..." ah Oscar is scared of lil Manny..."
If he goes for it..." Oscar should be ashamed of himself..."

Team Pacquiao wants this fight bad

I don't agree with this Fight! IT IS MEANINGLESS, But to start blasting Oscar like he's the one that had the idea, is ridiculous.
Everybody wants to fight Oscar, is that Oscars fault?

I know Arum is in talks with Shaeffer, Arum wants this. I didn't realize team Hoya is willing.
What I do know is this was Team Pac idea. Why shouldn't he get a piece of that Mad Money that's made from a Hoya fight?
I also Know this is not good for boxing or DLH, win lose or draw.

pac is retiring soon. this fight is a win-win situation for him. big money. get a win and he just got the biggest win in his career, puts him in strides along the ATG list. lose and his reputation is still undented. he might even get rave praise for he would surely lose like a spartan, not without giving dela hoya a fight people would remember. after that,he might retire 20 Mil. richer or just get back to 135 and fight again.

I agree. The only reason people are pissed about the fight is because Pacman may get beaten badly and by Oscar. Damn, that probably hurts all the Golden Boy haters. Its boxing people...deal with it.:good

People have short list of memorys. De la hoya fought Mosley when Mosley had to move up from lightweight to welterweight in which he skip the junior welterweight and Mosley clearly out box, outfought de la hoya. Oscar just last year loss to another smaller fighter in Mayweather. So whats with these people saying De la hoya vs Pacquiao is a joke? I don't think it's a joke at all. Pacquiao weigh in on fight night 147 pounds vs Morales 3rd fight and weight almost the same on fight night vs Marquez rematch in which Pacquiao was a welterweight. People need to wake up to reality my goodness.

Duran showed he can move up in weight effectively. Has pac looked good fighting @ 140 or even 147?
