Of course I'll watch the fight jut like I'd watch Haye - Vitali. But for me the result will be pretty irrelevant. I honestly believe both has slipped enough that is wouldn't be the defining moment in each of their careers, whereas 2 years ago it would have been

I'd go nuts if Pacquaio won though because I think he's slipped, Floyd is an embarrassment and I think he has waited for Manny to fade before even considering this fight.

 

I just cannot bring myself to go over there.

 

I think Manny can still beat Floyd. Did Vano say both have slipped? Because I think they have too. Manny faced a guy who always makes him look bad, while Floyd faced a guy who had no business even holding a title (or a driver’s license).

Floyd looked unusually sloppy early on and his normal reflexes weren’t quite as sharp, getting hit with wild hooks he’d have easily anticipated in the past.

Manny looked disinterested against Mosley (but did more damage than Floyd did) and a little limited against Marquez.

Both are slower than before and I think Roach is a good enough coach to spot Floyd’s tendencies. Manny still takes the first half of the fight – he’s fast, aggressive and punches in combination. Unlike Marquez, Floyd does not like to stand with an opponent – he prefers to negate their offence and then counter. That alone gives Manny a chance to do damage and score points.

But, as we all know, Floyd is nothing if not versatile. When he realises what’s happening (around the fifth), he’ll become more aggressive and start to go to Manny’s body.

The second half of the fight comes down to whether Manny put any hurt on Floyd and whether Floyd can expose enough of Pac’s flaws to beat him up.

Whoever wins, I see a 7-5 type score. I wouldn’t be surprised at a draw where the judges give credit for Manny’s aggression over Floyd’s efficiency.

 

I completely agree with pretty much everything DFT says here. I was saying it post Marquez, that just because Juan beat him (on everyting but the cards), Mayweather is a different type of counterpuncher.

I think Floyd beats him now. 2 years ago, I think Manny stops him before the 6th.
