Pac would have 10 if he didn't skip 115 and 118. The 8 titles will never be repeated. In other words, when your great great great great great grandkids look at the boxing record books 2 centuries from now, they will see Manny Pacquiao's name next to who holds the most weight titles.

Manny is a great fighter, but I see him more like a 5 time champion, maybe 6.

Those would have been great fights and Pac would have won them all IMO. But when you are nearing the end of your career, you go where the money is. With the exception of David Diaz, the guys Pac beat were no bums, at least not before the fight began.

That's exactly my thoughts. Pac and Arum have been aiming for what's financially right. Sometimes going for the big money fights makes you compromise the quality of opposition.

David Diaz is no bum either.

The opponents Pac has fought since JMM are not bums but are respectable, accomplished opponents, however, let's not pretend they were all the best in their respective divisions.

Oscar was past-prime, old and a shot fighter. That much is pretty evident. The Tony fight was a big money fight and the cheap 154 pound WBC belt was not needed. It just waters down any credibility the WBC have.

Pac does, however, receive credit for jumping up in weight and defeating bigger men like Toney and Clottey but neither of those fighters were exactly anything special at 147 and 154.

Hopefully. Why? Because no other fighter would go through the great lengths of drug test dodging, declined fighter facing, catch weighting, or rigging rankings to get vacant titles that Pac did. :deal

We can only hope though. Arum is still alive.

Hardly. There have been plenty of lineal champions who were far worse. Hell, he's not even the worst lineal champ in the division's history (I'd probably pick Billy Backus or Jorge Vaca for that dubious distinction). At least he defended his title successfully, and beat Judah cleanly on the cards.

Fact is, he was lineal champion, and earned the right with a pretty good performance.

Pac's an all time great, but in terms of lineal championships, he's really only held them at Flyweight, Featherweight, Jr. Lightweight, and Junior Welterweight...And that's still a hell of a feat.

Exactly. Pac is an ATG before he even hit 145. Why can't we seem to keep it real about everything after that?

He was still exciting and respectable. Pac fans just have to stop making it something it wasn't.

I'm a pacfan and i more or less just considers him 6. I don't care if you agree with me but 147 is one of my 6. I don't blame Ring why they put Pac the 147 #1. It is what it is. I'm disregarding his 135 and 154.

    That is more than reasonable.

Nobody, myself included, can doubt ANYTHING Pac achieved below 135. Hell you have to give him credit above 130, but as a Boxing fan you have to keep it in perspective.
