Pacquiao has been p4p#1 for 41 months, to Floyd's 29 - is this correct?

Pacs WOULDA fought more top opponents and would still take that #1 away from Fmj if he never retired

 

If Floyd also beat Cotto Margarito and Mosley sometime in 2007-2008 he'd be a top 20 ATG, possibly fighter of the decade

Pac was closing in on Mayweather before he retired, PacDBest leading the chorus for Pac to be #1 on here, and then Floyd beat Hatton and Pac had a close fight with Marquez and the debate eased down. However Pac would most likely have surpassed Mayweather with the DLH, Hatton, Cotto wins, especially as Floyd did not want to fight the best welters. These "if only" hypotheticals could apply to Mayweather grabbing the #1 aswell. If Hopkins had been given the decisions to Taylor, or if Roy had fought at cruiser after Ruiz and easily cleaned that out, Mayweather wouldn't have been p4p #1 either.

Anyway, Pac was made P4P #1 in June 2008, So it's about 35 months now. Floyd was made P4P #1 in July 2005, So he held it for about the same. Must be killing little Floyd that Manny has surpassed everything he's done and beaten him to every accolade.

If Tyson didn't fight DOuglas he would have been P4P up to god knows when.

 

Does this ring ranking sound right? look at the "weeks on list" , I woulda thought that Pac n Fmj weeks on list would only have bout 104 weeks (2years) diffrence at the least , but the diffrence is 302 weeks. Anyone clarify why this is?

Do they reset your weeks on list after retiring ? then coming back?

That's the week pac has been in the P4P top 10 not P4P # 1

 

Thats what I thought that it was about the top 10, So Pacs been in the top 10 that much longer than FMJ?

384 weeks = 7 years 4 months
82 weeks = 1 year 6 month

So they must have reset the weeks when FMJ retired?

 

Naturally, he would easily log 700 weeks on the list

 

Its quite flawed if they reset the weeks, its not as if Fmj started at 0-0 when he came back from retirement..

 

If I recall correctly, Floyd became P4P #1 very shortly after Roy Jones first loss to Tarver. He was #2 behind Jones for quite some time. BHop was #3.

 

Yet another shining example of why the rankings are a joke.

When people look at Floyd from the lower weights, you can see how they call him an underachiever, but him wanting to fight at weight classes bigger than his natural weight and his brittle hands has kept him down
