In fact, Pacman's only American opponent has been Oscar De La Hoya, and we know the golden boy was in no shape to fight that night.

Pac has to fight Floyd Mayweather and Tim Bradley. Those will be his only two prime American opponents.

Has this replaced the "Pacquiao has never fought a slick African-American" argument?

David Diaz was pretty prime unless you're going to split the argument to "good and prime".

I would say that Floyd is past his prime anyway and Bradley has not reached his yet. So who else have you got?

Isn't David Diaz from Chicago? Which happens to be American, another American opponent right there. I think Margarito is American too, born in Cali then went back to the home country.

...because prime Americans have been beaten by 2nd and 3rd tier fighters.

    Any other shot?
