u left this part out:Manny Pacquiao kidded around as soon as he made what was perhaps the boldest prediction in his battle with Ricky Hatton so far. Im just an ordinary fighter but I can beat a good fighter, Pacquiao told reporters Friday night before bursting into laughter.
It's probably lost in translation, but he probably half meant that. He's always said that he thinks that his style of fighting looks rough, bordering on ugly, and he said that if he was a regular boxing fan and he saw a Manny Pacquiao fight, he wouldnt be too impressed. He's got a blue collar style, nothing cute or fancy, he just keeps on punching until his opponent surrenders. He's said since the start that Oscar Dela Hoya is his favorite active fighter, Oscar's his boxing idol, and he loves to watch Oscar's boxing style and hoped that he could fight like him. He's a very religious guy, and he keeps on saying that all his strength comes from God, and he's been lucky to have reached this point in his life.
i think its quite clear that manny is fully confident in dismantling the hitman. even before the diaz & oscar fight, roach & team pac tossed hattons name around as a 'wishful' opponent. rickys style plays perfectly into mannys and i have no doubt that hatton will be destroyed. besides all that, pacs just being a humble dude when saying "i wouldn't be a fan" of himself.. he knows goddamn well he's exciting & entertaining to watch fight.
cant wait for this fight, im edging towards pacman, but hope hatton wins convincingly at that. Hatton - Cotto is wishful thinking, but i reckon it would be a much much closer fight than people expect.
even if it was, i guess it would be better not to use it (as an excuse) anymore, since picking what you're wearing on fight night is as important as bringing the right gloves. both has an effect on one's performance. ... its the fighter's responsibility.
He lasts one more round than Gomez and Jennings? I think Cotto would win but it would be a competitive mach. Hatton wins at 140.
Not really blame. (and actually, it was a draw, not a loss) He said that the painful blisters he got on the soles of his feet made it hard for him to turn his hips and pivot his feet to get the proper leverage in his punches to generate better punching power during the later rounds.
