It's cringe worthy when their fans say, "Well, Hatton is going to be shot after this fight". As if to imply Morales hadn't been a professional since 1993, and Barrera hadn't turned professional in 1989! Both of whom had been at the top for a very long time, and had their fair share of wars. Those two had already had their day. Marco's only last great performance after the loss to Pacquiao was ironically against Morales.
That's what you say. You may be based in the UK but your roots are from Mexico. I don't even know what a pinata is. Do the Brits know what a pinata is?
I'm 19 years of age, never been out of the country more than 3 times and without my parents. Believe me, you've got me all wrong, and this all comes out of being ignorant. You think that if I don't lick on Manny's balls, I must be a hater. I'm not a hater. His first Barrera win was great, and his performances were great against Marquez, albeit losing ones (in my view). Roots in Mexico :rofl:rofl:rofl
I know what a Piñata is, a piñata is a brightly-colored paper container filled with candy and/or toys. It is generally does **** all until you punch the **** out of it and you win i.e The Ghost of Del a Hoya, or David 'Heavy Bag' Diaz
Exactly. Manny didn't beat any great fighters in those two fights, but let's not single out King Pacquiao. I remember after Barrera fought, dominated, and out-classed Hamed. He went on a stretch of three fights of not fighting any huge prime fighters. Manny is just doing the same thing, and it isn't a big deal. He is now fighting a strong fighter in Hatton above his weight class, so he gets credit for that. But nobody is going to tell me Diaz and Hoya were great wins. :--bart
Do you think those fights will hurt Mannys chances...... Basiclly he has had two fights were he was able to do anything he wanted without getting anything back.... But he is gonna be in for a shock once he gets lamped for the first time by Hatton. I am gonn sit firmly on the fence on this one.... I have no idea who wins, I'm sure after the first couple of rounds it will be clear who is gonna win
Yes. Manny's not a huge puncher but when he entered the ring at around 147 (where he will be for Hatton), his power was enough to get the job done. Now we have to bear in mind that Oscar came in at 147 as well, instead of the close-to-160 he should have been, and consequently lacked the power and energy necessary for his offence. He may also have lacked his normal punch resistance. But I'm guessing Manny has enough power to beat most guys in the 140 division. That said, Ricky has fought at 140 for most of his career (other than a few les than stellar 147 try-outs). It's his regular office weight and he won't be weakened moving down(assuming he doesn't get too careless in the weeks before the fight). He will definitely be stronger than Manny and will have better punch resistance. While Floyd snr has simproved his boxing somewhat, it won't be good enough to box at range with Manny, who will be slightly faster and more accurate. Hatton will look to turn this into a brawl. Much will depend on how the bout is refereed. I believe Hatton can seriously hurt Pac with one or two heavy shots. The reverse is not true. Manny will need accumulation to do the same kind of damage. While I'm not a big fan of Hatton and his style, and while I like Manny and feel he has improved in each of his recent outings, I feel that Manny being the favourite is a little out of whack here. This is at best a pick'em fight. If I had to pick one of them, I would lean very slightly towards Hatton at this point. If Manny wins, he deserves credit and will have moved into number on my list. ( I know he's already there with RING, but I regard Little Floyd, sitting out in the wings, as greater at this point. I don't believe he's really gone yet.)
The same thing happened to Marco Barrera. He had his way with Sanchez, Kelley, and Tapia but then came up against this young firestorm Manny Pacquiao. It caught him off guard, and he got doubled over. I think irrespective of how active Manny has been with great opposition, he loses to Ricky Hatton. Everybody is overlooking that not only has Manny been fighting punching bags outside of 130, he's never had to take a shot. He'll get hit against Hatton, and I don't think he will see the distance. We shall see. Going to be a great fight.
hahaha! your reserving yourself for an excuse. :yep oh well what's new... don't worry hatton isn't as shot as casa.
Oh please. Enough out of you young boy. Stop acting as if you're objective when it comes to Pac. That story is played out when it comes to you. MAB seems to have forgiven his daddy, maybe you should follow suit.
MAB was old enough to be Pacquiao's daddy. He had been at the top of the sport since 1996. His time was up, and the Pacquiao fight signified the passing of the torch. Crushing defeat. I'm objective when it comes to Pacquiao. That is the difference between me and 60% of ESB.
yeah mab was old enough to knocked your boy JMM and almost beat him. you must have forgot that pac beat MAB when he was rank P4P no. 3... and after his lost to pac won 5 straight including his 3rd fight with morales. :yep
