Pacquiao sets promo deal with PCSO
    By EDD K. USMAN
    February 1, 2011, 4:29pm
MANILA, Philippines – World boxing icon and Rep. Emmanuel “Manny” Pacquiao (Lone District, Sarangani) has agreed to waive his P20 million to P30 million product endorsement fee in an exchange deal with the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) that will provide his constituents seven ambulance vehicles worth more than P6,650,000 in the past.

This was confirmed to the Manila Bulletin by Manuel “Manny” C. Garcia, manager of the Publicity and Public Relations Department (PCSO-PPRD), saying Pacquiao, the eight-division world champion, has agreed to provide his services although the ambulance vehicles are not yet available as of the moment.

“The PCSO still has to conduct a bidding for the supply of ambulance vehicles but the Filipino and world boxing icon has unselfishly agreed to endorse the PCSO and its various products,” said Garcia.

Pacquiao finished shooting the PCSO commercial that took four hours last Sunday in Binondo, Manila.

Meanwhile, the “Lucky January” capped its winning ways on January 31 with a solo multimillionaire for winning P15,718,660.20 in the Mega Lotto 6/45 draw.

Garcia said the lucky lotto bettor with the winning combination of 05-11-02-14-06-17 bought the ticket in Bagong Silang, Caloocan City.

It was learned that a Foton ambulance that the PCSO had provided in the past was worth about P950,000 each.

Before the Foton, the PCSO had Mitsubishi ambulance vehicles with a tag price of P1,200,000.

This is the kind of thing that can cause jealousy and friction within a camp, Pac playing favorites with his sparring partners. It could also lead to the sparring partner taking it easy which could cause him to get seriously hurt or Pac not getting the proper preparation. If Pac helps one sparring partner buy a house, he's got to help all of his sparring partners.

He can't afford giving too much to a single individual. He has already given millions to charities. There are daily caravan of needy people queuing his house for help as of now, mostly for hospitals bills, burial of the dead and food.
