"Maybe all of them -- they're using the steroids, and not me,...You know what? I don't even know what a steroid is. I've never done that." This is what Pac had to say in response to Floyd Sr.'s baseless allegation that Pac may be on steroids. Let me just say that I have no reason to believe that Manny is on steroids, and I feel that he is clean. However, how can you categorically deny doing steroids if you don't even know what a steroid is? Mosley claims(it's a completely bogus claim in my opinion), that he accidently took steroids. He claims he didn't know they were steroids and thought it was flaxseed oil(complete bull**** IMO). Is it possible that Manny has been getting roided up by a trainer or a nutrionist without his knowledge?
Steroids is almost considered taboo in the Phils, those who use it are weight lifters that join muscle competitions...among athletes though, i cant recall one local athlete that uses it. We're to afraid of the side effects to even consider it. this one is easy to prove and there are tests to detect it.
I am 27 and a fan of boxing since i was 10. I swear, I personally known what steroids exactly is just the other day via youtube / google / wikipedia - after hearing Floyd Snr's theory against Pacquiao. Before the other day, i only know that it's an illegal substance. I thought it's either a pill or a drinkable liquid, i just known that it's injectable.
You don't have to know what steroids are. Your coach has to know. In fact, it's even more dangerous when an athlete doesn't know what they are. I'm not saying here Pac is taking steroids though, I really don't know. I'm always asking myself who is taking EPO amongst the boxers who have a tremondous stamina, more than asking myself who is taking steroids.
im 5'9 164lbs now... but when i was active, 20lbs less (just cant get rid of rice:yep) we know what steroids are, but was too afraid to even think of using it since i heard it destroys one's kidneys...i'd rather have beer or coco vodka do that for me:yep
He's guilty. Nobody pleads a case with that much ignorance if they aren't roiding. He didn't get from 106 to 147 on fried fish and water melon. This content is protected
I've read the full article, and I now understand what MP meant when he said that. As you know, English is the Filipino's second language. And many Filipinos, including me, compose their thoughts in Filipino first, and then they translate it to english, especially when being interviewed live. And as you guys can see, Manny isnt exactly fluent in english. He barely got in to high school and never finished. If I follow what Manny was saying, imagining that he was thinking in the Filipino language first, then talking in english during the interview, what he actually wanted to say was.. "You know what? I don't even know how to use that and how it works. I've never tried steroids." Basically, lost in translation.
