I don't know what a steroid is either. Is it an injection or a pill? does it make your muscles bigger or just stronger? Does it increase or decrease your stamina? Is it just a hormone?

Seriously, its not surprising that he doesn't know what a steroid is. WTF is a steroid? sounds like a chemical (not sure though) but what is it composed of?

What a 'terrible' thing to imply about your fellow professionals! :-(

    Yes.
Manny knows about steroids. What is highlighted is a simple statement of fact.

In his comments, Manny is not usually so 'disrespectful' to other boxers.

Thats exactly what I was trying to say. There are things I have heard of but it does not mean I know what it is. I also really don't know what a steroid is or Baloot though I have heard of it.

Anabolic steroids are the synthetic version of the male hormone testosterone, which is produced by your testicles.

It raises aggression and increases potential muscle mass, achievable through exercise and diet.

It doesn't increase your stamina and extra muscle mass-all things being equal-would tend to decrease that.

Surely, every professional athlete knows these things about steroids-if not what the exact chemical structure is.

As I said earlier, lost in translation.

He most probably knows that steroids are illegal and not to be used by athletes, but he doesnt know how the whole steroid taking works, and how it makes you become stronger.

He's heard of the word, but is unfamiliar with everything about it.

And he doesnt own the Philippines. He's just a popular athlete.

the problem with people in the west is because they think in the context of west also.

steroids i am sure is not that prevalent here in the philippines simply because of the fact that it is a specialized drug.

heck, i have never heard of a professional athlete here in the Philippines who has been caught doing that.

it is simply too expensive or difficult to bring that here.

second, pac breezed into american conscousness sometime 2003 or 2004. yet, he had been fighting already for how many by that time.

pac is known to undergo one of the toughest regimens during training. he is ripped? ****, i have seen my relatives from down south like that.

filipinos who work in construction and other manual labor tends to be like that. unlike in the US wherein you have you power tools, construction here is done mainly by hand.

Heck not even "a few years", how old was Manny when he started, 16? He gained 40 lbs over the course of 14 years from when he was a teenager. Is that so hard to believe?

Jesus, Floydboys are keen on insisting that Floyd was around the same weight class when he was in the amateurs and at the same age as Pac. Now Floyd is a welterweight and is still as fast as he was before, does anyone question Floyd if he's taking steroids?

Pac was already coming in at 140+ when he was still fighting at 130 (I think he was somewhere around 142 against JMM in their second fight).

With Pac having that large money-hungry entourage, somebody would sold him out on a secret like this by now.

I agree, EPO would be more beneficial to boxers than steroids, but JMO.

Pacquiao's statements can be interpreted in different ways, just surprised how an unsubstantiated opinion can ignite in a wild fire. It's a possibility Pacquiao as any other boxer uses it, but Pacquiao really beat DLH and Diaz with speed more so than power, accumulation took those guys out. Hatton fight speaks for itself.

He's looked ripped since his days at 122, his brother is ripped, hell his mom looks ripped, and it's not like he has added a huge significant amount of weight in short time. His fight night weights since Morales 3 in Nov 06 was 144, Barrera in Oct 07 was 144, Marquez 2 in Mar 08 was 145, Diaz in June 08 was 147, DLH in Dec 08 was 148.5, and Hatton in May 09 at 148. In a span of 2 1/5 years his fight night weight has fluctuated a whopping amount of 4.5 lbs.

Sounds like a very sad attempt to diminish a person's accomplishments, and you know the haters will hold on to this **** like it's the bible. Shits pretty low to put through the media too.

nobody is above taking steroids. the facts are these, we just don't know if pacquiao is taking steroids and we'll never know because boxing is the most corrupt sport in the world. any boxing official can be bought unlike the other major sports.

who would have thought a-rod, roger clemens, mark mcgwire shane mosley and others would have taken steroids. these guys didn't seem like they would do such a thing.

the mere size of pacquiao's head is already a red flag and it should be investigated by an independent official.

i'm not saying pacquiao is on steroids but there are just too many rumors out there and it should be looked at.

Theres only 5 things I know about steroids

    1. They arent allowed for athletes.

    2. They make you stronger.

    3. They shrink your balls.

    4. Barry Bonds takes them.

    5. You cant buy them off the counter in the U.S.

hey scatterbrain, can you prove he ISN'T on steroids? come on tough guy, can you prove it? neither can i prove he IS on steroids that's why it should be looked at carefully.

we already had bernabe concepcion show the world what kind of a cheater he was by KOing luevano AFTER the bell. are we seeing a pattern here?
