Still no word on the final PPV numbers from Cotto-Pacquiao, but the reigning pound-for-pound king of boxing isn't wasting any time letting Floyd Mayweather know that Pacquiao is now boxing's top draw.

Bob Arum says that he's not concerned if a bout with Mayweather can't be agreed upon:

Team Mayweather, on the other hand, says that if a deal with Pacquiao can't be reached then they are likely to try to fight Shane Mosley (this comes from another article which can't be linked to here).

I don't believe that last piece of information, personally. The last person Floyd Mayweather wants to face is Shane Mosley, particularly after Mosley's demolition of Antonio Margarito. Mosley, even a 38- or 39-year-old version, has the size, speed and strength to knock Mayweather out and could prove a far tougher test for Mayweather than even Pacquiao would be.

Team Mayweather is likely using Shane Mosley as a stalking horse in negotiations with Arum.

Mayweather's camp says that if Floyd were to meet Mosley, it would be dependent on Mosley first getting past his next fight with Andre Berto.

Finally, Mayweather's team has rolled out the excuse that Juan Manuel Marquez was not a draw to try to explain why Mayweather's PPV sales seem likely to lag behind those of Cotto-Pacquiao.

Not explained in this argument is how two English-as-a-second-language fighters were able to apparently generate more interest than a returning undefeated superstar who has received more HBO promotional assistance than any other fighter save, possibly, the recently-retired Oscar De La Hoya.

It also doesn't take into account that the PBF-JMM fight was rescheduled to try to take advantage of the patriotic sentiment of Marquez' supporters during Mexican Independence Day Weekend.

Despite the rescheduling, Mayweather's unbeaten record and Marquez' added intrigue due to his close fights with Pacquiao, the Mayweather-Marquez fight did $2 Million less of a live gate than did Cotto-Pacquiao and is expected to fall short of the latter's pay-per-view buyrate as well. Such a combination of factors would serve to strengthen Team Pacquiao's negotiating leverage vis-a-vis Team Mayweather.

its reported fight got 1.5 millions views in a fight which was pacman biggest ever opponent, cotto. this fight was expected to do big sales.

floyd tune up fight got 1 millions buys, a tune up fight, it shows that floyd gets the most money out of his opponents fans pockets, and with pacman the most likable guy in oxing right now, and floyd the most hated fighter, this fight will generate over 2 million.

Arum knows Pac is on the verge of retiring. He wants to milk him out of every dollar. He'll want the fight to go through. He's losing Pac to politics soon, regardless.

It's like they are trying to compare Floyds tune-up fight with Marquez with Pac-Cotto's title fight...

    Whats wrong with that picture?

I think every fight Floyd fights in will feature 24/7...It was a major fight but that only because Floyd was comming back. You dont think PBF vs Cotto would have been a bigger fight?

So now that the fight with Pacquiao can be done you're looking at Mosley?

Mosley was the fight you should have done insted of Marquez, now it's too late for this fight.

That doesn't prove that Pac is a bigger draw.

All of the opponents Pac faced did that Mayweather faced did less numbers.

May vs Pac is impressive numbers because nobody really knows or cares about Marquez.

Altho I think the fight should be 50/50.
