My ignorant take on this situation is as follows...

Pac fought Floyd's leftovers in DLH and Hatton.

Hatton had lost his 0, hadn't exactly looked stellar in his build-up fights with Lazcano and Malignaggi, and his punch resistance looked to have taken a nosedive since the Mayweather fight.

HBO didn't seem to know what to do with Pac during the buildup to the DLH fight - they promoted it very clumsily IMO. A lot of people seemed to think that DLH was a step up too far for Pac, judging by the banter going on around here at the time, so interest in what looked like being a one-sided beatdown was limited - people want to see even matchups. Now that they seem to believe that Pacquiao is Mighty Mouse, they would probably pay to see him fight a Klitschko - and consider him to have a chance of winning.

The one fight where Pac fought someone that Mayweather hadn't already tarnished at welterweight (i.e. Cotto was cheated in the eyes of most people when he lost his 0), Pac outsold Mayweather, but then Floyd was fighting Pac's leftovers in JMM...

50/50. Anything else is really an insult to either fighter.

The point is, Pac's fights are more entertaining to the general public, and he has the momentum right now.

Floyd's fights in the past have proven better ppv sales. But Pac's have proven more exciting and there only getting better! 50/50.
