ok let's compare opponents for the last 5 years...

    pacquiao
    2007 -solis (TR)
    2007 - barrera2 (GBP)
    2008 - marquez2 (GBP)
    2008 - diaz (TR)
    2008 - dela hoya (GBP)
    2009 - hatton (GBP)
    2009 - cotto (TR)
    2010 - clottey (TR)
    2010 - margarito (TR)
    2011 - mosley (free-agent)
    2011 - marquez3 (free-agent)

    mayweather
    2007 - delahoya (GBP)
    2007/8 - hatton (GBP)
    2009 - marquez (GBP)
    2010 - mosley (GBP)
    2011 - ortiz (GBP)

so pacquiao has fought 4 GBP fighter, 5 TR fighters and 2 free agents where as foyd, in the same time frame, has fought 5 out of 5 GBP fighters.

so you owned no-one but yourself, smart boy :hi:

i still want to know what could have happened. of course floyd would be the favorite to win. i really want to see that fight then that i would not complain if floyd fights cotto next.

this is the difference between a floyd fan and a *****. a ***** would instantly blame arum or someone else on why floyd wouldn't fight a certain fighter. never mind that ellerbe was on record saying that cotto is not a good choice of opponent since he is not a proven draw which is totally false since cotto-margarito earned around 450k PPV.

Me too. People say that Cotto is faded, and yes, mentally he's not the same. But I would still pick the Cotto of Marg 2 over the Cotto of Marg 1 based on the relative performances - so go figure.

Obviously Pac is the priority at the moment though.

    Not really.

Cotto was a top rank fighter whereas Arum was VERY much against Floyd at the time (following Dela Hoya and Hatton PPV successes). That's a huge road block in and of itself.

And I don't think Cotto's team wanted to risk a loss against Floyd for their undefeated star, who (Floyd) would have still been a strong favourite (I think, at the time, team Cotto thought they'd cruise through Marg).

I don't blame Floyd for taking time off, but he certainly didn't give the fight a chance. A lot of people were calling for it.

So I wouldn't say either ducked the other. But neither fighter really pushed, despite what some "quotes" may suggest.

The main point is is that GBP fighters DO fight Top Rank fighters
    always have

Its just that floyd wont fight manny pacquaio

And Oscar is Floyds boss and floyd wont dare speak about their business deal

Isn't Mayweather promotions involved in all of Floyd's fights? Surely they're making a mint.

And no need to post numerous hate posts one after the other. People got your agenda the first time.
