“I did not see the Diaz fight but I heard that Marquez won the fight and if he wants to fight somebody, anybody, I wish that we will meet again,” Pacquiao told setanta.com. “I think there would be more action in the ring after our two battles and we need to put into the minds of people that there is a winner.” On his upcoming clash with Hatton, Pacquiao is confident that he can cope with the power of the Englishman’s body punches and the fact that the weight is more natural to his opponent, saying: “For this fight I have to train hard, focus in training and study his body punches. “I don’t think that the size will decide this fight. The most important thing about this fight is the ability of both fighters and how hard they train for this fight. “Hatton is a good fighter and a strong boy and I don’t want to underestimate him." Pacquiao’s status reached new heights last year when he destroyed Oscar de la Hoya and while big clashes against Hatton - and maybe Marquez lie ahead – that win is still a huge highlight for the fighter. “It’s a miracle, unbelievable. I did everything for that fight. Everything I could have done in training I did for that fight and I always thank God for giving it to me.”
This is great news. We need a third fight, win or lose to Hatton this can happen and let Hatton-Cotto go at it.
If Pac gets by Hatton, IMO he deserves 55-45 purse split against JMM. If he fights JMM now, it is 50-50.
Hatton is undefeated at 140. Cotto's sole loss is to the monster Margarito. If PAC defeats both, WOW! A solid ATG.
