Sergio Martinez has been chasing a possible fight with Pacquiao but Pacquiao is not interested in moving up to a higher weight division. Martinez said he was willing to "risk his health" by dropping all the way down to 150-pounds to fight Pacquiao.

"I must go down to 150 and take a risk with my health. I want to prove that pound for pound I'm the best boxer. Now there is no excuse," Martinez said.

However, a fight with Pacquiao will require a few more pounds. If Martinez wants to get in the ring with Pacquiao, he will have to risk a lot more than his health by shaving off enough weight to make the welterweight limit of 147-pounds.

"If Sergio Martinez can get to 147 pounds, why not? We can negotiate a weight," Pacquiao said.

    Can Sergio do it?

Is this fight even appealing to some? Martinez would be weight drained

He would most certainly be weight drained. If Pacman wants to fight him he should do so at 160,since hes the legit champ there.Im sick of these catchweights they are BS.This fight wouldnt be appealing to me at 147,to be honest. At 154 Martinez may be okay.A non-weight drained Martinez would beat Pacuiao, too big, strong, tall, quick.Would be a hell of a fight though

As a Pacfan I am willing to say, Pacquiao, Stop ducking, Move up. Lets see all the screwed up weights you make guys fight at. Oscar De La Hoya ( 7 Lbs below his weight ), Juan Manuel Marquez 3 ( 14Lbs Overweight ), Antonio Margarito ( Catchweight, 150, 4 lbs below Margarito's weight. ) ect. Fight Martinez at 150! He said he would do that! If you won't take that you are ducking, ( Although you should do 154, You go 7lbs up, Martinez 7+ )

    WTF Pacman!

Martinez should stop chasing smaller fighter. As much as I want pac to fight sergio at 154, but pac after margo fight clearly said that he wouldn't fight again at weight higher than 147 coz of the toll his body has suffered after his fight with margo. We'll I can't blame pac since he has climb so much in weight.

That's the top dog mentality speaking there. I don't blame Pacman, he's considered to be #1 P4P and a cashcow and he doesn't believe he needs to prove himself. If Sergio wants the fight, bow down to Pacman's demands.

If Sergio does fight Pacman at 147, then **** them both. They're both to blame.

Sergio to Manny: If you really are the best, fight me at 154...

Manny to Sergio: You need me more, get down to 147 then we talk...

Floyd to both: Imma gorilla! Imma dawg!

Pac is already small for a welter but he needs to go up in weight again just to satisfy some fans here. The next time we know, Pac will be called a chicken for ducking Chad Dawson.

I think it is fair enough. Pac is smaller than Floyd and Sergio. However, although it is fair in some ways it will kind of ruin the fight because Sergio will be weak.

I would much rather see Sergio vs Floyd at 153 or so. A weight that would be ok for both and it would be the best fight that can be made.

    Actually it's more like this:
Martinez: "I'm willing to fight Pacquiao to regain my 154 title."
Team Pacquiao: "We won't go any higher than 150."
Martinez: "I'm willing to drain myself to 150 to fight Pacquiao."
Team Pacquiao: "Just kidding, we won't go any higher than 147."

Martinez: "Ok 147 [chops off arm] lets do it!"
Team Pacquiao: "143 1/2 with no rehydration on the night and you've got a deal."
