That knockout was pretty nasty but I don't believe he's the type that dwells on losses. Remember that he's been KO'd before...

It's a good sign that PAC hasn't withdrew himself from the outside world. He actually seemed in a LOT better spirits than I expected immediately after the KO. I read somewhere he's watching the tape of his loss which many other fighters couldn't bring themselves to do for months after a knock out like that.

I keep saying it.....but it's true....PAC looked GREAT in every round...even the round where he got knocked down....the round where he got his clock cleaned was a one sided round in favor of PAC.....If Manny hasn't suffered any lingering effects of that devastating KO....we might see PAC come back rejuvenated. Not sure how this actually plays out but Manny based on what I saw this Saturday....I'd say Manny is still the best at 147 behind Juan.

Hopefully he'll be back stronger and more motivated than ever before. Pacman is a great asset to the sport.

I honestly think Pac should take some time off and come back in the fall of next year. Give his body that extra couple of months of healing. He should still workout and stay in top shape though. Work on his craft. That was a devastating shot. Remember how Jones came right back after Tarver and fought Glen Johnson? Manny needs to skip April.

Truth be told....PAC didn't take that much damage. If anything it's the damage he took to his psyche that is the most concerning. Juan actually would need more time to recover from the battle wounds he suffered in securing that wicked Knock Out over PAC.

I think you're right about taking some time....but April is ample time to rest...figure out who will be his next opponent and make sure it's a fight that will allow PAC to see if that Knock Out has any lasting negative effects.

I think Marquez should just retire. He's 39 yrs old, he did what he set out to do against Pac. Out off all three fights, the fashion of his victory out weighs his two controversial losses. I feel he won't be so successful the fifth time around, because the motivation will not be the same.

Pac needs to take time off and ease himself back in. You just have no idea how someone will react to being KO'd.

I said the same thing about Chad Dawson and he's coming to fight Pascal...a fight he probably will be KO'd in.

I see your point but Pac was knocked the **** out. Put to sleep. He has been going strong fighting 2 to 3 times a year since he became a pro and some years 4 times. Skipping April all while working ut and staying in shape will do wonders for his body and he can get in the gym and work on his craft. Work on his defense, jab and much more. If he comes back in April he will regret it.

If he feels fine I dont see what the problem is. As others have said, the main issue is how the KO affects him mentally. It can screw up a fighters psyche in the ring, as it did Roy Jones. But Pacquiao has been KO'd before long ago and he bounced back from those, so he's been through this before.

    Good and insightful post.

After having satified his appetite for destruction,Juan may not have that edge that drove him to train and to hunger after that KO end that he wanted so much.

If I were Juan Manuel i might retire in the everlasting glow that comes from just such a win as that.

Im not saying he will or that he should retire. Im saying the sweetness of that win would satisfy him for the rest of his life.

Broken nose and cuts require time to heal knuckle... PAC had some superficial bruises which mostly came from that last shot that made PAC go night, night.

Hasn't decided. I hope he fights Rios or some other contender as a tune-up at least. Also depends if Marquez retires or not.
