Pacquiao invites Marquez to go 'toe-to-toe'

Not brawl....that's never going to work against a guy like Manny. But rather than wait, sit back and counter like he has for the past 3 fights....Take the fight to PAC.

I for one think Juan should fight whatever way he feels he can win. Obviously the last fight Juan saw his most success against PAC...I'd say stick to the game plan...maybe apply a little more pressure than last time but if it ain't broke...don't fix it.

PAC did well last fight but not as well as he did in the previous 2 fights...he needs to adjust some things from what he brought to the ring last year against JMM, in order to get a win in a much more clear fashion.

LMAO. Manny walk forward more in their last fight but JMM still got his punches off first a lot of the time. Just go back and watch the fight. Manny got a gift decision and tards know it.

 

JMM never stays inside that long, for good reason.

JMM shouldn't change his style to accommodate Pacquiao, right now he has the tactical advantage. It is up to Pacquaio to change his style which may force JMM to change his style.

Pac dont like JMM playing the counterpuncher, fine, dont throw punches. The keyword is right there "COUNTERPUNCHER", you need incoming punches to counterpunch from. If pac doesn't throw punches and backpedals, JMM will be forced to come forward and lead, then Pac can play counterpuncher. Now if Pac wins that way, good, if Pac still can't win that way, then tough. JMM has the stylistic advantage and Pac has no way to force him out of that style.

 

But if the aggressor is getting the **** countered out of him and missing his shots he shouldn't be giving credit for just coming forward.

 

But Pac has the tactical advantage of knowing the judges reward the guy making the fight.

 

I'd say he was more lucky the judges saw the fight in favor of aggression vs the one controlling distance. PAC's aggression wasn't always effective but he was the one pushing the action. Quantity vs Quality....judges a lot of time go with the fighter who throws more and is moving forward...not that it's right but that's typical.

 

All three fights are close, which means both guys were doing the right things in very competitive fights. Marquez doesn't have one punch KO power to openly commit and engage, if anything that could favor Pacquiao all the way. He's better off doing what he always did and produce another close fight rather than risking stoppage only to see history forget his gutsy performances in the first three and remember him knocked out. Though, I do agree that this is how judges score nowadays.

 

By the way Manny doesn't want JMM to go toe to toe. JMM has beautiful uppercuts and can mix those head and body shot combinations up better than anyone in the game. Manny doesn't have that inside game and Marquez said that he was going to destroy Manny's body this fight too, and we know Manny doesn't like them body shots.

 

In close fights there's no such thing as "gift" decisions. All three were extremely close tough fights that could go either way to no way(draw). Perfect examples of gift decisions are fights like Pacquiao vs Bradley, Chavez Sr. vs Whitaker, Holyfield vs Lewis 1 and many others.

 

I think there is some translation error on Pac's behalf. When was the last time he fought at toe to toe distance? I think he meant for JMM to be more aggressive.

I do and I see Marquez getting a clear UD in this fight. 8 rounds to 4. All I hear from team Pac is be more aggressive which goes to show that they don't have a game plan. The difference in ring IQ is really going to show in this fight in my opinion. I could be wrong and we get another close fight but I doubt it.

 

You really think that after Pac-Bradley?

If anything, I can see a close win for Pac and JMM getting the nod, and everyone will say its only fair etc.

 

i think it favors jmm. he was potshottting in the last fight. he would benefit if he would pick his spots and outbox him. be aggressive, but, smart.
