Hatton can bring that figure only with pacquiao, maybe even more than that, as brits know that this would be a helluva fight. They do respect pac as a fighter unlike mayweather.

I'm in favor of the 50/50 split too, but asking 60% is also reasonable.

As per HBO, Pacquiao has the "IT" factor.

The link did not show up. It's from the scene where HBO says that Pacquiao is the new face in boxing right after leonard, tyson and dela hoya.

Lets talk money, the PPV money that Hatton generates is way more than Pac could get. Against Mayweather he got over 1 million buys at 5am, and in cash terms made more money with the UK PPV than his cut in the US market. He made £25,000,000 or so in the UK, which by the exchange rate at the time comes to almost $50 dollars. That's a big market and Hatton had it all to himself coz Mayweather, despite his nickname, doesn't know **** all about money.

This mean that if Pac takes 50% of the US and the UK PPV income, I don't expect this fight to perform well in the US by the way so the UK is essential, he's getting at least 7-8 million straight away. No other fighter offers that. Sure Pac would go to fight Mayweather, and he'd be definitely considered the better boxer, but it wouldn't make him as much money as the Hatton fight.

Hatton's reasons for getting a 50-50 are economic, not down to each fighter's stature. That number measures their market appeal, not their skill.

the fight should be 50/50. Pac beating the weight drained DLH did not prove anything. Not to mention he is fighting THE champion at 140 not some trinket belt holder.

The hatton-mayweather fight made that revenue because of the two fighers and not because of hatton alone. He made that figure in the UK because he was fighting the #1 pound for pound boxing that time.

Same scenario now with pacquiao who is considered to be the best boxer in the world at the moment. They are projecting huge revenues for the bout because of the huge following of both boxers and also right after pacquaio beat dela hoya.

Hatton can't produce that figure again with any other fighter. The malignagi fight was not made a PPV because they knew that it won't sell even if hatton has a huge fan base. It takes two to tango.

As for me, as I've said that I'm okay with the 50/50 split, but then pacquiao asking 60% is also fair enough. He had accomplished so much that I think he deserves a slightly bigger share of the pie, and also he has done what most boxing experts considered as impossible and that is not just beating but beating up the much bigger dela hoya and also had done that by jumping two weight class.

What I'm saying is that Pac is being a fool for putting the fight in jeopardy over a 10% difference, just to prove a point or play politics. Either way, 50 or 60, it's still gonna be one of Pac's biggest paydays, infact possibly his biggest, so he should get on with it. It's not Hatton that's doing this.

You should just respect the guy for being brave enough to face dela hoya who is much bigger than him. Many people advised pac not to take the fight as they said it's gonna be a massacre, but he knew that he can beat dela hoya that's why he took it.

No one in the boxing world has ever thought that the result would be that way. Not even one thought that pac would knock out dela hoya.

During the 24/7 series, dela hoya was so confident and had been stating that he was very comfortable with the weight and that he felt he got more power that time. Now they're telling everyone that he was weight drained.

Just respect pac's courage and for making the unthinkable possible, and not make any excuse for dela hoya.

They could sell Ricky Hatton having a dump live at the MEN and a load of city fans would turn up to watch I promise.
