pac fought a stupid fight trying to run over ugas early and getting countered like that. He should have worked his jab and got ugas to throw and then countered. Also he ****ed up letting ugas hit him low that many times. You have to go blow for blow low with people. I still had it a draw.
Fight was really close tho. Pac with the activity tho missing a lot, ugas more economical but accurate. Really comes down to whose style the judges favor
Nah man, Pac just finally aged and is almost shot, I really hope he doesn't come back, next one is just gonna be Ali v Holmes all over again
I had it for Pac but way too many close rounds that could be scored either way. A wide Ugas decision wouldn't have been unreasonable, imo.
Pac is my favourite active boxer and my third favourite all-time, behind Ali and Duran. I scored it 6 -6 ...114 - 114. But 7 - 5 for Ugas was reasonable. No robbery there. It's the end of an era.
It was close, competetive - and dull - but Ugas won 115-113 on my card, with many rounds being close swing rounds - mainly due to the fact that most punches from both fighters were either falling short or being blocked on the gloves. I felt Ugas had a bit more success going tothe body and the fact he visibly hurt Pac and always seemed composed and in control swung it for me. But doubt it's a fight I will watch again in a hurry
The strong last round by Ugas put an exclamation mark on the result for me. He might not have been overly exciting but he was efficient and easily landed the majority of the clean hard shots. Given recent boxing history you just know he's a worthy winner when he not only wins but wins unanimously. As soon as they said unanimous i knew it had to be him.
I had it a draw. No complaints about an Ugas decision. Many of Ugas' right hands were hitting the back of the neck past the gloves. But because Ugas is massive, these partially blocked punches still sent Pac's head flying back. The facial damage of both fighters were about equal, but obviously you can't see much on black fighters.
I think Pac's head snapping back all the time and not doing the same to Ugas is what lost him the fight. It's always hard to decide how to score when that's going on. In theory I want to say the advantage of power is getting KOs and draining your opponent, but in practice it's hard not to give someone a round when they are landing the more impactful punches.
Ugas did nothing, but counter-punched here and there. Most of them landed on Pac-Man's gloves. Pacquiao landed more and did 3-4 hit combos frequently. I think a fair YouTuber will make a slow motion punch stats video soon and shut everyone's mouth up.
