Well, I learn a new thing everyday. Didn't De La Hoya force Mayweather to wear 10 ounce gloves? Also, didn't Mayweather fight Hatton with 10 ounce gloves?

10 oz is the standard at JMW and above. So Mayweather wore 10 oz. gloves against Hoya, Cotto, and Alvarez. He also wore 10 oz. gloves against Hatton. When he fought Hatton, the rules in Nevada stated that all fights from JWW on up had to take place with 10 oz. gloves.

he fought de la hoya at 154 thats why they used 10oz gloves... and nope 8oz v hatton @ 147. I think what floyd was refering to when saying de la hoya chose his gloves was probably that he chose a heavily padded pair. they are designed different, some have most of there weight on the wrist area... some are literally like pillows with all the weight in as padding
