I'm stealing this one from 196osh's thread. Thanksfully it wasn't part of 24/7, Hatton ain't no cool guy for the media. He's a cool guy anyway.
4 days to go!!! Gambler's Advisory suggestion how to bet on the fight: [yt]sN6_1X-0klo[/yt] Here are some predictions from the UK DAVID HAYE - Heavyweight contender & former cruiserweight world champion "Hatton has taken his career to new heights with his new trainer Floyd Mayweather Sr and a more professional, healthy approach to living between fights. "I see Hatton winning a very close, hard-fought decision. He may have to get off the floor but he will find a way to win." KEN BUCHANAN - Former lightweight world champion "Ricky has been a great ambassador for British boxing for many years and I'll put a couple of bob on him but you can't change Ricky, he's set in how he boxes. "He goes forward, he's a pressure fighter and against Pacquiao he'll do what he's always done - and Pacquiao, who's a tremendously talented fighter, will be too fast for him." JOE CALZAGHE - Former super-middle & light-heavyweight world champion "It's going to be a tough fight for Ricky but he's got a better chance of beating Manny than Floyd Mayweather Jr [who beat Hatton in 2007]. "Ricky definitely has the height advantage against Pacquiao, so if he can close the range and cut him down he has a great chance of winning. He's got to take his chance." SIR HENRY COOPER - British heavyweight legend "Hatton should win because he's bigger and heavier - and he's no slouch himself. Hatton found it hard moving up and now Pacquiao is doing the same. "The first three rounds might be a bit flashy and fast for him but he'll wear Pacquiao down, which is why Hatton will win in the latter rounds." RICHIE WOODHALL - Former super-middleweight world champion "I think Pacquiao will cause Hatton all sorts of problems but he hasn't got Floyd Mayweather's speed or skills and Hatton's still the best light-welterweight in the world. "Pacquiao's fast but he's busy and in your face and that should suit Hatton down to the ground. It will be Hatton's hardest fight ever but he'll have too much." CARL FROCH - WBC super-middleweight champion "Ricky has got a very difficult job ahead of him. He's the underdog and he's going to struggle but I think he is going to pull it off. "He's bigger and stronger than Pacquiao and if the referee lets him fight his fight, which is a rough, dirty, pub-brawl type of fight, he'll rough him up and he'll beat him." JAMES DEGALE - Olympic middleweight champion "It's a fantastic fight and one that I would pay to see. It's 50-50 and depends on whoever sticks to their game plan on the night. "If Pacquiao goes out and boxes Hatton he will win on a points decision but if Hatton can draw Pacquaio into a fight, he is a bigger and stronger man and I believe he will be victorious." BARRY MCGUIGAN - Former featherweight world champion "It's a pick'em fight, with Pacquiao's speed and combinations against Hatton's strength and power, although Floyd Mayweather Sr has done a good job in making Hatton more subtle. "But Hatton will have to attack and use his relentlessness, it won't be won on boxing ability. If forced to make a prediction, I'd say Hatton on points." FRANK WARREN - Hatton's former promoter " I have to admit I don't like Hatton's chances. Boxing at light-welterweight will suit Hatton but it will favour Pacquiao more. "Pacquiao will be that bit quicker than he was against Oscar de la Hoya at welterweight - and even stronger." Come on people, VOTE! We need exactly 50 more votes to reach the 500 mark! :thumbsup
Pacquiao arrives in Las Vegas! This content is protected "I don't want to talk too much before the fight, I want to let my fists do the talking in the ring." This content is protected Poetic Hatton in MGM Grand! This content is protected "I may be fat and I may be round but guess who is going to be the best pound-for-pound?" LOL! "I've never felt this relaxed and confident. The Mayweather fight, I got caught up in all of the hullabaloo. I have not lost too many rounds let alone any fights at 140 pounds. If you look at that turnout five days before the fight with the way the economy is in Britain - it's as bad as it has been in a while - it's as great an accomplishment as any fight may have been. The British are head and shoulders the best fans in boxing, paying their money to come. And this time we've got the Filipinos as well so it should be even bigger." This content is protected
A few more pictures of the Pacquiao arrival: This content is protected This content is protected This content is protected Pacquiao overweight??? According to titles PacMan has to lose 7 pounds in the following 3 days. I don't understand what is being discussed in the following videos, Filipino fans could help making a summary of what's going on. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QYxPz3m9_WY http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EF89PH2PA3s
The news is just saying that he's at 147 right now, and he needs to lose (or cut) 7 pounds by official weigh-in to make 140. Just stating some info, to those people who aren't so into boxing and don't know the different weight classes, etc. No weight problems.
You're right, 7 pounds is not that serious. Anyway, it is an interesting news, it seems PacMan fully grew into the division. Amazing how his body grew as he moved up, you could tell it from his face. This content is protected Hatton on the other hand This content is protected
in his fight with JMM, he is 3 pounds overweight a week before the rematch with marquez...last sunday, he is 7 pounds over the limit there are reports on local radio that pac is at 146 today
It would be kind of ironic (coincidence? irony?) if Pac headed into fight night with weight problems and Hatton was on point. Doubt it would mean anything but still a cute little wrinkle to the plot.
any updates on the current weight of hatton that's what i like with the wbc policy of having compulsory weigh in a month and a week before that fight. it just makes the build up more dramatic
Even though he likes a drink hatton always make 10 stone. So Pac as to lose half a stone by frida, he should be able to do that.
Pacquiao can't weigh 140lbs now or else he will also weigh 140lbs on the fight night. He will shed those few pounds a few days before the weigh in and then rehydrate himself to around 147-150lbs. That will be his fighting weight.
