It really will be. If there is any fight a guy just doesn't need to lose, it's this one for Pac. Clottey was high risk, low reward from the time the fight was signed, and with the fight happening later tonight, nothing has changed.

Pacquiao passed up $30 million or more to fight Mayweather. That in itself was a shame, but after that, they opted to fight a guy who is bigger, stronger, and probably harder to hit than anyone Pac has faced. While I admire their decision to fight another potentially tough opponent, I don't think anyone would have looked down on them had they picked a less heralded guy. If anyone deserved a showcase fight, it's Pacquiao.

But for Pacquiao to turn down one of the biggest fights in boxing history, just to lose to a relative nobody...I shudder at the thought. The ramifications for Pacquiao losing this one are HUGE!

Undoubtedly. Manny cannot afford a letdown against Clottey.

The one thing I will say is that at least now people shouldn't think he's ducking true Welterweights or only fighting washed up corpses with a big name. Clottey's a full sized, quality 147 with little name value that Manny's fighting with no catch weight. It is more risk than reward and Pac should get due credit if he takes care of business against him.

I completely agree. I think this fight shows just how much Arum is in it for himself. The ONLY person coming out of the fight smelling like roses no matter the outcome is Bob Arum.

If Manny even looks crappy winning this will be bad for possible future negotiations. The fact that Clottey has never been stopped AND is defensively responsible multiplies the likelihood of Manny not looking great.

If Clottey wins he just used Manny as a stepping stone. Arum will make the Mayweather fight and probably take even more of Clottey's purse.

I dont think he will lose
Ive seen a couple of clottey fights, and its by no means going to be a walk in the park for manny, but I think pacman will wear clottey down
pac/roach is one of the best fighter/trainer teams Ive seen since I started keeping up with pro boxing again in the past couple of years, and I dont think they would have taken this fight unless they had a doable strategy to win
I'll be at the stadium in a few hours.............WAR MANNY!!!!!!!!!!!

Don't worry, Pacquiao won't lose. No chance. Clottey is completely out-matched.

Even if he loses he will still be a superstar and if clottey wins it will be like Morales vs rahim, rahim I think thats his name, nobody wanted to fight him, nobody talked about him after he beat morales and everybody keeps talking about morales

I think Pacquiao made a mistake in taking on Clottey. Clottey is a tough fight for anyone and is hungry enough to come into this with some bad intentions to spoil the pac parade.

he has always fight great opponents and thats why he is and will be a superstar and he loses he will still be recognized as one of the greatest and in my opinion he is #1, I have watched fights since 10 years ago and Tyson was the greatest for me but Pac replaced him

If the upset happens in this fight then it just shows that Pac vs PBF should never have happened in the first place.

After the fight make sure you have a napkin in hand to wipe away all the crow you'll be eating from your mouth.
