I don't think this is abnormal for any fighter really though. Once you reach the mountain top and fight all the great fighters or have been training or fighting for that long, it's hard to keep it up mentally. To go in there and train everyday and be willing to put it all on the line in the ring.

He used to be right on top of people after knocking them down even if they were within an inch of their life. I knew everything was different after he was imploring the ref to stop the fight with Margarito.

Reminds me of the Duran after he beat Leonard at his own best weight at 147, then he got fat and complacent.

Money, great wins, success and all those luxuries destroy a fighters hunger.

I think Margarito took a lot out of Pacquiao.

My thoughts are that around the time negotiations fell through around 2010 with Mayweather, Pac was like "well, what's the point then?"

Exactly. Once Mayweather fell through there was nothing left for Pac.

He just fought for a check he no longer needed.

Yes it's his hunger and nothing to do with his advancing years?

    He's shot, move on.

I'm not blaming Floyd for the fight falling through l. It didn't happen and that's that.

What I saying was this. Pacquiao had no motivation to fight after Cotto except to collect a check he didn't need.

Why would he, given what he had accomplished throughout the decade?

Pac looked plenty motivated in the JMM IV fight.

Were you just sitting around subconsciously thinking about how to soften the loss?

In some ways he lost motivation, but only when he had to fight Arum's ****py in-house fights.....He looked up for it in the Marquez fights....

And he most definitely needed those cheques mate.

Not really man. Pacquiao has 6 career losses. I'm a fan, but losses aren't that big a deal for me as fan when the fighter I like has 6 of them.
