I'm fine with it. It shows PAC is willing to fight a name guy and not just go back and forth in negotiation bs with MW, I say do it, keep busy, keep exciting and let the talks continue til thier done, let MW lose whatever momentum he had. If 2010 Pac Ko's Malignani, (i think the Marquez 3 isn't wanted anymore) and takes another weight class title from Foreman and a firefight with Valero, or even Mosely, who's gonna complain at the end of the year?

Meanwhile in the same time frame who's MW gonna fight, Matthew Hatton?

It obviously elevates Paulie's status as a dangerous fight for most main event fighters but I don't think it really boosts his status as a big draw. The only thing that can boost Paulie's status as a draw is if he were to knock Pac out and anyone with 1% brain power knows that will NEVER happen in a million years. If Paulie were to win it would be by dancing around the ring and out working Manny to get another boring win via decision but I don't even see that happening. I like Paulie and I think he has a good enough boxing IQ that him winning via decision would not surprise me, I just don't think that's likely to happen.

It would put Paulie in a Buster Douglas status.

    This^^^

The thinking arum has....As I said in another thread....is mayweather-pacquiao will happen....but with the lawsuit threat, and all the other bull**** that has happened the fight will be pushed back....Malignaggi, when you think about it, is a good tune-up for a possible fight with mayweather....he is speedy with good unorthadox movement.....

Plus, Mayweather is ****ed for a few months, and where is his tune-up matt hatton? He should maybe fight a collazo imo as a tuneup....

I think these are some reasons why Pacquiao wants Paulie:

    - Pac wants Floyd but since it's off and Paulie has similar style to Floyd

    - Paulie accused Pac of illegal drug use. Can you guess what Pac loves to do to his accusers? lol

    - Paulie won't require Olympic style drug testing

He would'nt if he wants to fight Pacquiao. If Paulie doesn't want the fight then he can go on and require an Olympic style drug testing.

Timothy Bradley and Devon Alexander both Jr. Welterweight champs said publicly that they would not require Olympic style drug testing for a Pacquiao fight.

paulie is a better opponent than matt hatton

anyway, paulie is just an option. i think arum is looking at bradley and the winner for the berto-mosley fight as well

after floyd, there aren't many choices for pac there at the moment
